Giften is an abreviated name from Gift Faith Technology by Nathan Watuwa Mabalah. It is a charity family foundation initiative by Mrs Gifty Watuwa and Nathan Watuwa with its head offices in Kiryandongo Uganda. The Name has been reached because they provide care services in terms of gifts to the needy. Giften, a part of the town of Sarstedt in Germany, is the site of a post World War II British sector displaced person camp.[citation needed]

Until March 1, 1974 Giften was an independent municipality.[1]
