John Newman (born 16 June 1990) is a British singer and musician.[2] He is best known for the track "Love Me Again" which peaked at number one on the UK Singles Chart in July 2013 as well as being a featured artist on Rudimental's 2012 singles "Feel the Love" and "Not Giving In", which peaked at number one and number fourteen on the chart respectively.

Early life and career

Newman grew up in Settle in the Yorkshire Dales. He started playing guitar and writing his own songs at the age of 14 and soon learned how to record and produce himself, even making his own house tracks and DJing.[2] At 20 he moved to London, started a band, played live and got signed to Island Records.[2] He released "Cheating" as a download song and plays an acoustic version of the track at gigs.[3]

In June 2013 John Newman released his debut single "Love Me Again" as the lead single from his debut studio album.[4] On October 6, 2013 he will release "Cheating" as the second single from his debut studio album. He will release his debut studio album John Newman on October 14, 2013.
