Bellzlleb (stylized as BELLZLLEB) is a Japanese heavy metal band, formed in Chiba in 1985 by Tetsu and Yuji. Their sound mixed elements from black metal, doom metal and hardcore with influences from Aleister Crowley, the occult, horror, satanism and the dark, heavy sound of British heavy metal band, Black Sabbath. They extensively toured the Japanese national club circuit during the 1980's and the early 1990's and left various recordings from 1986 until they disassociated in 1992. Kuroyume opened for their last gig in 1992 at Meguro Rock-May-Kan.
History
Bellzlleb was formed in 1985 by junior high school mates, guitarist and composer Tetsu (Genkaku Allergy, Spooky Six Mouse, E.G.O., Love House, Zeus) drummer and arranger Yuji (Scarecrow, Love House), who played as local members of hard rock band Love House in Chiba-city. Rick, the loudest and wildest bass player in Chiba city, was recruited along with Koizumi who sang in local Black Sabbath cover bands. Her vocal style was high-toned with influence from Ozzy Osbourne. This completed the original lineup of Bellzlleb in 1985. Bellzlleb played local clubs Dancing Mother's and local metal festivals which lead to participation in the Yamaha amateur band contests East West. In 1986 they participated in the East West national junior finals at Nakano Sun-Plaza hall while they were still in high school. Their first real break came when they opened for thrash metal band Black Rose in 1986, whose guitarist and lead composer Pata later joined the visual-kei rock band, X Japan.
