Empty Pools is an English indie rock band from Bristol.[1]

History

The band was formed in 2011 by Ben and Aaron, who had previously played together in John Parish's band at the turn of the millenium[1]. They self-released two singles in 2012[2][3], which gained them attention from the NME[4], before signing to Battle Worldwide Recordings (Frenchkiss Label Group) and releasing two 7" singles in 2012 and 2013[5].

The band has opened for Sharon Van Etten, Menomena, White Denim, Destroyer, Other Lives and Tom Tom Club[6], and has confirmed a UK tour with Eleanor Friedberger for August/September 2013[7]

Their debut album, Saturn Reruns, was announced via SPIN, and comes out on November 4th[8]. It is preceded by the Exploded View EP on August 26th, which features remixes by Menomena and Thought Forms[9].
