WVRI (90.9 FM) is a yet-to-broadcast religious-formatted non-commercial educational broadcast radio station licensed to Clifton Forge, Virginia, serving Alleghany County, Virginia.[1]

History

Originally owned and operated by Ron Elmore Ministries, Inc., the construction permit and station license were sold to Liberty University in October 2009, and will become a satellite broadcasting tower for their flagship WRVL-FM station.[2]

This station received its original construction permit from the Federal Communications Commission on May 23, 2008.[3] The new station was assigned the call letters KCFF by the FCC on February 6, 2009.[4] This assignment, possibly by accident, makes KCFF the only "K" lettered call sign in the Commonwealth of Virginia and one of a handful east of the Mississippi. On October 15, 2009, KCFF became WVRI.
