Garjanai is a 1981 Tamil film is directed by C. V. Rajendran. It has Madhavi as Rajini's love interest and Geetha as his sister. Music was scored by Ilaiyaraaja. The film was first made in Malayalam, with superstar Jayan. After his death during the filming of Kolilakkam, the film was re-shot with Rajnikanth; simultaneously in Malayalam and Tamil owing to Rajin's huge fan base in South India. The movie did not fare well at the box office and was a failure.
