Info is an industrial rock, industrial metal and electronic metal band from Bogota, Colombia. It is one of the established acts in colombian gothic industrial scene that has led the industrial movement flags to other media within the rock scene of their country.
History
Origins (2000–2004)
In late 2000, Camilo Z. (vocals and guitar) met , Alex L. (drums) and John C. (lead guitar) to begin a project of post-punk who had no bass player. During this search they met bassist Milton R., who was drummer for the band of alternative rock Santaraña and the power metal band BrujoNitro. Milton R. left percussion behind to join the fledgling band as bass player. It should be noted as precedent that Alex L. was the substitute drummer in the rock band 1280 Almas, band whose heyday in the nineties made them famous in the Colombian rock scene. Once defined this lineup the band takes a new direction sound leaving the post-punk and the post-grunge in the past to find its own sound more contemporary staying away from Nü Metal so fashionable in Colombia for those years.
The name 'Info refers to the word information, which represents all that the New Man needs: there are no limits to have information ... " the Internet, media and networks are at the hand of every man to be tapped after "evolution" (John C. in an interview with 97.9 FM Radioactiva, Colombia - March 2005).
The band's name came up in a spontaneous conversation about changing the project name and was proposed by Milton R. himself looking that the band was called the same in Spanish or English, taking as inspiration the intro of the song sample Hero from the album Psalm 69: The Way to Succeed and the Way to Suck Eggs by Ministry.
Beginnings in industrial rock (2004-2006)
Looking for an advanced sound that distinguish new colombian trends, Milton R. introduced the first settings made with a desktop computer creating the bass line of the song 'La Marcha' using Image Line and Native Instrumentssoftware. This new proposal of electronic rock combined with live traditional instruments marked the beginning of full exploration of the band sounds.
Working in what would be this new electro industrial sound of the band, the group worked in studio for two years to effect the release of a 4-song EP that was published in 2005, which included a version of Muevete, a classic of colombian rock by the legendary band Estados Alterados. The song had the approval of Estados Alterados and was broadcasted on alternative music channels in Colombia.
At this point the band's musical influences were German industrial music, EBM and the sound of bands like Nine Inch Nails, Rammstein, Die Krupps and Pain.
Later, they recorded their first video clip supported by Billig Cinema, an independent company of audio and video productions. It was directed by Larry Paipa and the song chosen was " La Marcha." The video was broascasted on channels with special shows like CityTv in Bogota and Musinet in Medellin. As a second video, the band chose the single Muevete, recorded in June 2005, directed by Larry Paipa again with a more ambitious production than the first video. At this time the band had the participation of Damian C., in electronics, who left the band in 2006 to embark on personal projects.

Camilo Z.'s departure from the band (2011)
In December 2011, co-founding member and vocalist Camilo Z. left the band without notice or excuse argued, presumably for emotional and behavioral problems. After auditioning to 22 people who responded to the open call published by the band on their website, enters as vocalist Andres C., ex-Legacy of Fire vocalist and frontman. This makes rethink editing, recording and mixing the album Nitro Inverno, which was in the process of being released but inevitably postponed by the abrupt departure of Camilo Z. The album 'Inverno Nitro' comes to the process of re-recording all the vocal lines and harmonies, leaving its release date by the end of 2013.
