St Mary's Holyhead: new section
Line 132: Line 132:

Hi Steve. I've added some bits and pieces to the [[St Mary's Church, Holyhead]] page. I'm gradually writing articles about all the listed churches in Anglesey and a few others - see {{tl|Anglesey churches}} /[[User:Bencherlite/Operation Anglesey]] for my progress so far - but wouldn't have thought to write about St Mary's. I wondered where you got the 28 Feb opening date - I've got 1965 in a couple of books, but they don't give the precise date. Is there anything else we can usefully add? The other Anglesey churches tend to have sections about architecture and "assessment" (i.e. listing and any other comments or criticism of the architecture) but I doubt we can find much about St Mary's for either section! :Thanks for sharing all that info! It's interesting to learn more about the church, especially the old St Mary's. I got that date from someone in the Diocese (I emailed the Diocese of Wrexham to ask). At the moment I can't really think of anything to add. I did change the parish priest though, as Fr Dennis recently left and Fr Frank has returned to us.

Best wishes

Thanks for your feedback on this article. Can you assist in pointing out or fixing the NPOV issues? The template is old and unspecific, I hope your expertise can assist. - RoyBoy 22:01, 28 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi RoyBoy, I'm pretty new to editing Wikipedia. But, I'll have a good look through the article and see what I can do. Steve (talk) 00:49, 29 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Era in articles

The manual of style says to keep the WP:ERA of articles unless there is a good reason otherwise, e.g. if the article is about a Christian on non-Christian religion. This stops wars between people fighting over AD/CE BC/BCE. Dmcq (talk) 18:40, 30 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Dmcq. I will bear that in mind in future. Steve (talk) 19:44, 30 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:Nichiren Daishonin Portrait.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. ww2censor (talk) 11:09, 31 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ww2censor, I have added what I believe is the correct Copyright status tag to the image. The original painting is from the 14th-15th Century, which is obviously in the Public Domain. However, the photo I have uploaded, is a photo of the original. But, as far as I know, a copy of an original, cannot be subject to copyright. Please let me know if this is correct. And thanks for your message. Steve (talk) 14:03, 31 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, thanks for the shiny stuff. Just ask if you need any assistance with images. I am also on the commons dealing with image copyright issues. ww2censor (talk) 18:19, 31 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Ww2censor. I really appreciate that. Steve (talk) 18:21, 31 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

HI Ww2censor, I've added that picture of Nichiren to Wikimedia Commons. Here is a link to it: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Nichiren_Daishonin_Hakii_Portrait.jpg

However, when I try searching 'Nichiren', and even 'Nichiren Daishonin Hakii Portrait', it doesn't show up. Does it take a while to register? Or, have I categorised it wrong? If you get a chance, please take a look. - Steve (talk) 01:42, 1 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Also, I didn't move it across from Wikipedia, I just re-uploaded it to Wikimedia Commons. Steve (talk) 01:43, 1 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Nichiren Shu

Hi there I noticed you added the crest in the Nichiren Shu article. Woild it be possoble to make it available in the wiki-commons section? so far the license only goes for the english wikipedia but it would be nice to be able to add the crest in other languages on the subject too :-) thank you :-) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.244.174.111 (talk) 19:51, 13 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I did originally want to upload it to Wikimedia. However, the admin of the website that I got it from was quite specific that the image was copyrighted to Nichiren Shu, and could only be used with the permission of a representitive of Nichiren Shu. I don't see a problem with adding it to the Nichiren Shu article's in different languages, though, as long as the source and info remains the same. - Steve (talk) 20:21, 13 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, since I could not trace it on commons would you be so kind and upload in the German Wikipedia article on Nichiren Shu? and doing so replacing the portrait of Nichiren (already used in the german Nichiren article. If you do it then it would be done by the person who got the permission. The title would be " Wappen der Nichiren Shu". That would be great as it would be a perfect contribution to the article. --89.244.174.111 (talk) 21:59, 13 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hi thanks for trying to get the logo in ... seems more tricky though. Thanks anways --88.130.213.246 (talk) 06:22, 14 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I couldn't figure it out. Maybe you could add an 'edit request' tag in the discussion section, and ask an admin to do it? - Steve (talk) 11:31, 14 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Need Advice and feedback

Hello, My name is Mimieux Land. I am a student at Clemson University. In my Eng course we are currently working on an assignment where we are to find a Wikipedia article that could use some editing as far as adding information. I chose to add on to the article Airborne Diseases. I could really use some feedback on how I am doing so far on my article. Mxland (talk) 00:59, 19 October 2012 (UTC) User:Mxland/sandbox[reply]

Hi there, I can't find a link to the article... Stephen (talk) 18:13, 20 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
