Adem Somyurek was an Victorian State MP of Turkish descent. Being born in Turkey in 1968, he was the only Muslim in any Australian Parliament and was the Australian Labour Party MP for the electorate of Eumemmerring. He lost his seat in a redistribution in 2005.
