Recharge is a business news website and monthly magazine covering the global renewable energy industry, particularly wind and solar power. It is owned by Norway's NHST Media Group, but headquartered in London, with full-time editorial staff in the USA, UK, Brazil, Germany and Japan.

Recharge was first established in January 2009 as a weekly newspaper, before becoming a monthly glossy magazine in January 2013.[1] It also produces daily publications at trade shows including the European Wind Energy Association's annual event.[2] In September 2013, Recharge produced its first dual-language daily newspaper at the Brazil Windpower event in Rio de Janeiro, in both Portuguese and English.[3][4] It is due to produce a daily publication in both Japanese and English at the World Smart Energy Week in Tokyo at the end of February 2014.

Recharge launched rechargebrasil.com, an online Portuguese-language service for Brazil in September 2013

Several high-level industry players and executives have contributed "Thought Leader" articles to the magazine,[5] including Tulsi Tanti, founder of wind turbine manufacturer Suzlon; Henrik Stiesdal, chief technology officer of Siemens Wind Power; and Steve Sawyer, secretary-general of the Global Wind Energy Council.

Jeremy Leggett, the founder of Solarcentury, the UK’s largest independent solar electricity company, is a regular columnist.[6] Former chief executive of the European Wind Energy Association, Christian Kjaer, joined Recharge's board of directors in June 2013.[7]

Recharge is highly regarded in the renewable-energy industry, and in 2010 was awarded the Advocate of the Year award by the UK's Renewable Energy Association, the first time the prize had been given to a publication.[8]

In 2013, Recharge signed a deal to provide news and data on global wind markets to all of Siemens Wind Power’s 9,000 employees.[9]
