Crelle's Journal, or just Crelle, is the common name for a leading German-language mathematical journal, the Journal für die reine und angewandte Mathematik ("Journal for Pure and Applied Mathematics"). It was founded by August Leopold Crelle in 1826 and edited by him until his death in 1855. It was the first major mathematical journal that was not a proceeding of an academy. It has published many notable papers, including works of Abel and Eisenstein.
