"Bad Blood"

Writer: Anthony Horowitz Director: Jeremy Silberston Airdate: 22 January 2006 Net duration: 94 minutes Set: August 1942 Episode 14 (4:2)
Guests: Kenneth Colley, Roy Marsden, Philip Franks, Gawn Grainger
A biological warfare experiment with Anthrax goes horribly wrong and Sam is asked to marry.

Historical context inconsistencies

  • Sam is administered streptomycin in 1942, even though it was not discovered until the following year - and was not available for medical use until later. Also, the entire episode seems to bear a strong resemblance to the testing of anthrax by the British military on the island of Gruinard.
  • US soldier Farnetti refers to training at Fort Benning, Virginia. Fort Benning is in Georgia, not Virginia.
