History
History Golitsyn bus plant begins with the signing of the letter of intent with the company "Mercedes-Benz AG" about the proceedings of the licensed assembly of a wide range of buses for different purposes in the USSR. In 1990, according to the Order of the Ministry of Automobile and Agricultural Machinery of the USSR number 117 manufacturing facilities Golitsyn Bus Plant (GOLAZ) were launched, and in July, has already made the first models of buses on 303. Since 1995, the plant began mass production of city buses - single and articulated. Bus model has received the proud title of «Russian".
In 2000, Golitsyn bus plant became part of the largest machine-building holding "GAZ Group" (formerly "RusPromAvto"), which brings together the major bus manufacturers and automotive equipment in Russia.
Buses GOLAZ repeatedly awarded medals and diplomas at Russian exhibitions. Among them GOLAZ-4244 model, which received the title of "Best Domestic Bus 2002 in Russia." In August 2003 GolAZ received a special prize for the creation of a bus "Cruise".
