Let's stop feeding the troll

Please see my most recent comment at Talk:Stephanie Adams. We have a consensus among us to support your change, so by all means, please implement it, and let's not waste any further time with someone who, at the very least, is a paid employee of the subject. I Dont Understand Why You Deleted It, Please tell me so i dont make the same mistake?

Could you have another look at Plant organization? I think it had been vandalized when you saw it. Thanks, Melchoir 02:33, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mortarism

there are at least 15 McMaster University students who believe with some reason that your deletion of the Mortarism article is Discrimination against the mentally ill

i will explain this to you later in depth.

please do not be alarmed; this is not a hate crime!

please realize that this is NOT a judgement call on you, freply. it is just proving a point. notice there was a link to discrimination at the end of the mortarism article. in my opinion, you are honestly discriminating agains Marc di Saverio and against the mentally ill, as a whole. you have only proved a point by erasing it! this was a part of a plan that you fell for! I assure you this is a serious matter. That simply means that you will NOT be discriminated against. But you will be argued with. You will also most likely lose the argument.

You may want to reconsider your deletion of mortarism, regardless of your earlier reasons for deltion. Please contemplate exactly what you are doing. Tomorrow I will return to this box and prove you more information about this entire matter of discrimation.

thank you, Lisa Mendacino

ps, this is not a gag, or a joke. This is actually what several students are viewing as a hate-crime of sorts, even though we are almost positive you will try to dispute this, which will only make you look more guilty, since this is a trap you have fallen in to. in fact, very many, who have been signing petitions at McMaster and UofW would agree this is not right. If you are Derek Webster or a friend of Marc di Saverio or Mortarism, then please make this known. Please do not try to trick anyone into thinking you are Derek Webster or James Martin or someone associated with Marc. If you are, hello! thank you for being so kind to Marc, who has actually spoken extensively about you, and others from Montreal! If you are Derek, much respect to you....if not, you may have a problem on your hands. Mostly, that problem is your own misunderstanding.

MORTARISM, PPS

MORTARISM, PPS

in short, if the article on mortarism is not restored in some fashion, by tomorrow, preferably in its entirety, you will have bitten off more than you can chew! Don't worry, this is not some sort of threat! In fact, I would prefer if you did not restore the article, to further prove an important point whose arguments on our part you likely cannot even foresee. This does not mean we do not have arguments that will totally make foolish your arguments from about a month ago.

ciao, lisa

PPPS/MORTARISM/MORTARISM

this is to let you 3 law students, 1 lawyer, 1 psychiatrist, 1 psychologist, 3 mortarists, and roughly 15 students have been made aware your deleting the mortarism article

YOU MUST UNDERSTAND, this is a political act that only has to do with words, law, freedom, accountability, and your ignorance. Mortarism is a peaceful revolution, but i have a feeling you could not have known this. 5 people believe you should be taken to court. Other disagree and believe there must be talks on your comment board. We welcome any and all arguments. if i were you i would change your arguments from a month ago, since they will quickly dismantled.

Remember, this is to prove a point. if you are a part of Maisonneuve you should let me know now. the only ways you will prevent yourself from a well-worded blast -- and I mean blast in a totally verbal sense, NOT a criminal or cruel sense that we believe you are demonstrating -- are if you are a friend of Marc di Saverio and mortarism, or if you are in fact either Derek Webster or James Martin. Marc di Saverio has made it very clear that he reveres these two men, along with maisonneuve.

are you a manic!? if so, you have demonstrated this with your swift but unthought-out action. it is ironic.

good luck! on behalf of Mortarism, Bipolars, Kay Jamison, Love, Freedom, the bipolar's difficult struggle in Western Society; AND what is FAIR.

Quiet birth

I became interested in the subject after seeing a TV interview of John Travolta and Kelly Preston. Google showed 23,000,000 references to "quiet birth", but there is no article by that name in Wikipedia. The article "Silent Birth" covers this subject, but anyone searching Wikipedia for "quiet birth" gets no results. I would like to give the same basic article under the title "quiet birth" so people can find it.

Alternatively, why not change the title of "silent birth" to "quiet or silent birth"?

I have never written a Wikipedia article before and would appreciate any advice you can give. wikisooth

Thank you

thanks for the super-fast response. I will go look for "quiet birth" now and see if the redirect is working. Wikisooth 23:02, 4 May 2006 (UTC)wikisooth[reply]

Quiet birth

I note that the Church's website http://www.scientology.org/en_US/news-media/briefing/2006/society/060404.html refers to it as "quiet birth" and also that Kelly Preston, John Travolta and others who actually practice it call it "quiet birth". I note that Google gives slightly more (23,000,000 versus 22,300,000) results for "quiet birth" than "silent birth". That being the case, could you change the title to "quiet birth or silent birth"? P.S. thanks for the tip about the four tildes.

RE:Wikipedia talk:Administrators' noticeboard

Thank you for your comments about this. Is it an official policy of Wikipedia to not edit other people's comments even if there are glaring spelling and grammatical mistakes? If it is so, I will stop doing it. However, I would like to know a reason why this is strongly discouraged in Wikipedia. My intentions for doing this is clear. It is to make the talk pages more clearer to comprehend and add a feel of professionalism to it. I have noticed that some of the comments contain blatant mistakes and it pains me to know that these mistakes are allowed to be kept indefinitely on the talk pages. I am only trying to help make these talk pages feel a bit more "accurate". Any encouraging comments will be deeply appreciated and I mean no harm. Thank you! --Siva1979Talk to me 17:06, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I got the picture. But what about correcting minor spelling errors? This sentence, Though it may appear helpful to correct typing errors, grammar, etc, please do not go out of your way to bring talk pages to publishing standards, since it is not terribly productive and will tend to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting does not state clearly about JUST correcting spelling mistakes. I would not be going out of my way just by correcting minor spelling errors (although correcting grammatical mistakes might be viewed as going out of the way) Am I then encouraged to correct spelling mistakes only? --Siva1979Talk to me 17:14, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Alright then. I guess I have to follow this guideline. But in my opinion, I hope that the more experienced users of Wikipedia would change this rigid guideline in the future..... --Siva1979Talk to me 17:22, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I guess, the next best thing we could do is to leave comments about the users' messages having blatant errors on the respective talk pages. Then, the users who edited these messages will then have the option of correcting their own mistakes. Some are not aware that their messages contain full of spelling or grammatical errors and it would be a good idea to clarify with them first before proceeding. What do you think about this? --Siva1979Talk to me 17:33, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
True, I have to agree with you in this. It is not a rewarding thing to do and you will have to expose yourself to more critizisms from "sensitive" users. But, I may give it a try by making my messages on their talk pages as diplomatic as possible. It is going to be a test on my patience as well! I am also aware that some users DO NOT like to be pointed out for their mistakes as well. Anyway, thank you for your advise and opinion regarding this issue. --Siva1979Talk to me 18:18, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Extinctioners Page - too many copyrighted images

hi, this is RVDDP2501, on my Extinctioners page, the comic cover section was removed, don't worry, it wasn't a major thing, but I just wanna know if it was a violation that caused the removeal and are any other images threatend with removal? I just want as compliant as possible and I am afraid that my the other pics which are more important to me will be deleated and I don't wanna upload them again, so in short is the rest of my page ok?

??

irving layton

please leave the new info on irving layton. I am a montrealer; I understand layton's place in literature. I also understand layton's place in mortarism. I think others should, as well.

but mortarism IS more important a phenomenon than others inspired by layton. layton, if he were here, would probably agree. in fact, you should investigate the 6th reading and you will find it was important. just a thought

Irving Layton

Yes I agree it is not about Layton but someone influenced by him. Perhaps it shoud be added at the end in a separate article link such as See also or additional information or related opinions BUT then again that is not what Wikipedia is for, the personal (I should know I have had to fight two deletions on my own article Bio LOL )WayneRay 21:32, 9 May 2006 (UTC)WayneRay[reply]

Canadian Poets

Hello again, yes I have made myself the editor of the Canadian poets lists and articles and a few other related items. I have only been doing the wiki for about 6 months on a semi regular basis, about 4 hours a week. The Lists of . . are so messed up I have just taken a direct clean out and clean up attitude and am trying to stamdardize them. I admit I made a few mistakes in the beginning but it all evens out. Irving Layton was an acquaintance of mine when I began writing poetry in Toronto in the 1980's. He had encouraging remarks for my 2nd book of poetry, Auschwitz a book of anti war poems. I recently remastered and published a CD of his 1979 readings. He was a great man and a great influential poet. WayneRay 21:41, 9 May 2006 (UTC)WayneRay[reply]

Traditum Votum

This information posted on wikipedia is taken from the works of John Wansbrough who passed away not so long ago. His works have been thoroughly researched and will be published in FULL in time for christmas this year, I believe it unfair to have removed a life's worth of research just because you haven't heard of the society or read any of the books related to it. I understand that there is little if any information on the internet regarding this organization but rest assured that the links to Sevilla FC are clear, on top of the former Sevilla mosque, the church has the words TRDTM VTM engraved. There is a high resolution photograph of the engraving that will be released with the book. Please, do not delete the article.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Banksy1988 (talkcontribs) .

Removal of RAFT scheme

Hi FreplySpang,

This is in regard to the removal of the RAFT scheme due to copyright infringement:

"The Wikimedia Foundation information team has received a complaint from the originator of that scheme, specifically that it was copied without permission. Copyright is very important to Wikipedia, so I have removed the mechanism. Please be careful not to violate copyright when adding material to Wikipedia. FreplySpang (talk) 21:16, 7 May 2006 (UTC)"

I have contacted one of the originators of the RAFT scheme and discussed the issue with him and he sees no issue with using the scheme as the RAFT scheme was first published in a patent (WO 9801478) prior to publishing in the initial ACS publication (Macromolecules 1998, 31(16), 5559–5562). If the ACS would own copyright over the reaction scheme it would only be over the actual published version. Thus the scheme has been published repeatedly in many papers, chapters and a book without copyright infringment.

In previous discussions with the originators it was suggested that they should take out a trademark on RAFT but this was never done.

If you have any further detail to the issue regarding the copyright infringment, or if you could direct me to the instigator of this issue I would be very greatful (and probably so would the originators at CSIRO).

Regards,

Almar Postma

James Andrews article

I took out a lot of the resume-like material on the James R. Andrews article and replaced it. Because of that, it's harder to source. If you think it's still meant for deletion, I'll have to see if another user can save it. Otherwise, please remove the tag.

Here is my attack

Well, I hace confessed to vandalizing for the past several months, and for permanently scarring my reputation. I want to state now that Tex's contention that I haven't left is entirely false, I only came back on the 23rd to voice my opinion against RobChurch, and his RfA. Well, my attack: I am sorry for being the CIyde vandal and for my attacks on John Reid. I am sorry that I came here, stressing myself, and others out. To further emphasize this, I did create an account with the intention of it being constructive after a three month long meltdown. Hopefully, I will be able to edit constructively, and I am sorry for all the trouble I cause. Yes, people reform, and to be honest, the point of the vandalism was to attract attention to what I see as incivility, and the reasons several of my friends have left here. But vandalism is vandalism, so I better quit before I get in trouble. I am sorry I was ever apart of the project. I DONT want to be a Brian Chase. But, at least I did edit here constructively for a year and three months before I went haywire.εγκυκλοπαίδεια*14:34, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just a note about disambiguation pages

Thanks for rewording some things at the Yam disambiguation page - it sounds much better! Just a note about adding non-existant links to disambiguation pages; if it is likely that an article can be written about the topic, it is generally allowable to leave the entry in. Of course, that doesn't mean that red links should be made willy-nilly on all disambiguation pages, but especially if it can be referenced to another article, it may be appropriate. The link you removed was certainly appropriate for removal, but I just wanted to give you a heads up for the next time you run into a disambiguation page. For more information, you can take a look at MoS:DP#Redlinks. -- Natalya 23:10, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Penis banding article

Thank you for your kind words. Personally, I’m just too discouraged by the whole thing. Because of the nature of the article I believe that it will never remain unchallenged or without someone trying to delete it. I could scan in the books with the information and it still wouldn’t be good enough.

There are far more articles with less documentation that what I provided but because they are main stream no one questions them. Some I’ve looked at I know that the information incorrect but no one jumps all over them. I’m sorry that the Wikipedia Administrators can’t get past the content to review it properly.

I’ve copied the original article for when I need it and I’m just washing my hands of the whole thing. I’ve spoken with joecool and he’s a bit more of a tilter of windmills than I am and last I heard he plans to re-write it with in the requirements of Wikipedia and re-publish it. I’ll let him fight the battles.

Well, of course, I realize that my own edits are not perfect either! But I am willing to correct errors to the best of my abilities. There is no such thing as a user having edits which have no errors in them at all. I am aware of where I stand when it comes to the command of the English language. And by the way, please feel free to correct my talk comments and edits if you find any grammar or spelling errors in them. If we co-operate in this manner, I believe that the standard of English among English Wikipedians would improve greatly. --Siva1979Talk to me 20:50, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I see you've blocked User:Sweetiepetie as a sockpuppet of User:JamieAdams. I've looked at JamieAdams' talk history and the behaviour seems very out of character for Sweetiepetitie. I've never seen the latter be so provocative. I don't have the technical knowledge to explain the IP address, but I do notice that he/she has had problems with AOL proxies recently.

Anyhow, as far as I know, Sweetiepetie has done nothing to warrant being permablocked -- I've had the user's Userpage on my watchlist for a while now too, and follow the project he's mainly involved in. The JPStalk to me 13:14, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If an article cant be started and hence written about an area where not much is known but what is known is actually written in books to back it up then surely what is teh point of writting an article if someone can come along and just delete it.

I am know going to get the books i have read that specifcally state what is in teh article just more in deph before you delete it again i suggest you read those books or ask someone who has!

Jack!
