The plot section could do with revision, reads slightly opinionated? Or as if it was written by someone who couldn't find the appropriate wording or means to convey what they wanted to say.

I've copy edited it somewhat, though I didn't spot anything I'd call "opinionated". If there's anything you still dislike, could you say specifically what, please? (Don't forget to set answered=no in the template above.) --Stfg (talk) 15:14, 28 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Extinction

Dragonx00x (Dragonx00x)

Call of Duty: Ghost will contain a cooperative (4 players) game mode where the player(s) face off against waves of alien horde. This was revealed on 10/28/13 after massive leaks over the internet activation went ahead and posted the reveal trailer that is assumed to be saved for later. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 165.138.103.243 (talk) 18:09, 29 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Search & Destroy

SnD: This gametype is Not a part of the Multiplayer! Misleasing to say so, its being replaced with Search & Rescue(editor.note: which sucks) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thomandy (talkcontribs) 11:15, 4 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Section About Free Fall

Not only does it sound more like an advertisement, but I struggle to understand why it requires it's own section. 2601:8:9380:56C:A085:1D44:8973:C87B (talk) 02:15, 7 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, it was nearly identical to Activision's description here, hence the reason why it sounded like advertising. I've removed the entire section for now. Someone who has time to put it into their own words can always add it back in later. --GoneIn60 (talk) 02:40, 7 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

PS4 edition released.

In the Wiki, it talks about the release date of the PlayStation 4 edition of the game being released on the 15th of November (currently, next Friday), but it was actually released alongside the current generation consoles, so the game itself for the PS4 has been released and is already available ahead of the release of the PS4. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Skywlkrr (talkcontribs) 16:16, 8 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Reception

Should we also at least mention the overwhelmingly poor user ratings on Metacritic? I know user reviews can be quite ridiculous and outright farcical, but it seems to be worth at least a mention, kind of like in Company of Heroes 2. AnnicAllus (Talk) 02:52, 10 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It's not worth mentioning for the reasons you state. User ratings are not reliable sources, period. Also, an overwhelming majority on Metacritic doesn't tell us anything about how that relates to the general population. We can assume it's representative of the general pop, but that assumption often leads to trouble. In the end, it's just a difficult position to defend. When in doubt, look at "featured" video game articles, such as COD: Modern Warfare, to see what type of information is preferred. --GoneIn60 (talk) 04:20, 10 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Metacritic scores alone are self-published works and not considered reliable on their own. The only time when they are used is when reported on by reliable sources in regards a wider controversy. Company of Heroes 2 does do this but is far from a well written, properly cited article but a much better example of its usage would be Portal 2. Without any context, said scores do not reflect any legitimate criticism about just the games themselves. It also can't be seen to how much of the user scores are from actual players (considering some pre-date the official release) and thus cannot be assumed to be in good faith. Stabby Joe (talk) 14:28, 10 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

"Call of Duty: Ghosts received generally positive reviews from critics,"...'Generally positive' is a Metacritic designation. However, it's one that Call of Duty: Ghosts does not appear to have met on any of the platforms it can be purchased on at present.[1] [2] [3]. Seems to me it might be more accurate, if you're using Metacritic designations in the reception section, to go with "Mixed or Average reviews."108.39.247.159 (talk) 00:32, 14 November 2013 (UTC)Random Guy[reply]

It's an understandable concern, but I think we're using the appropriate designation. "Generally positive" here is taking into account the scores across the board, from GameRankings and other video game publications, not just Metacritic. 5 out of the 6 scores on GameRankings would fall under "generally positive", and while only 2 out of 5 on Metacritic technically does, one is borderline and the other two would be considered top end of the "mixed or average" spectrum. That's a total of 7 out of 11 with 1 borderline. From the video game publications listed, 15 out of 23 have the equivalent of "generally positive" as well. In the end, it's not so much this one line that counts anyway. It's what we include in prose within the Reception section. So far, it looks like it's pretty balanced. --GoneIn60 (talk) 15:01, 14 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Game is set in 2027, except for the ODIN event in 2017

Someone with editing-privileges add this to the Story section. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.179.54.44 (talk) 17:36, 16 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
