Wikipedia is its own culture; for example, a common WQA task was explaining to new editors that simple removal of owntalk comments is not disrespectful.  It's not required nor particularly logical that Wikipedia ''respectful'' must be the lowest common denominator of what respectful is in the consistent cultures of its participants. 'We need to achieve a common definition.
