Interstate 49 (I-49) is portion of Interstate 49 in Arkansas. It starts at Doddridge at the Louisiana state line, then to Texarkana and I-30, as it reaches the Texas state line and ends at US 71 and US 59.
It's planned to return to Arkansas after bypassing Texas and eventually following I-540 to Missouri.

In the U.S. state of Arkansas, Interstate 49 consists entirely of the following two unconnected routes, but, in the future, theses will be connected as part of I-49 project and will be renumbered as I-49:
- Interstate 540, from Fort Smith to Bentonville, Arkansas, running mostly concurrent with US-71, but, in the future, will be part of I-49.
- Arkansas Highway 549, from US-71 Doddridge to the Texas state line, ending at US-71, north of Texarkana, but this highway is currently part of I-49.
