East Bay Grease

East Bay Grease is the debut album by the soul funk group Tower of Power. It is characteristic of the Bay City funk style they helped to establish and further built upon throughout their career. The album was released on CD in 1992 by Rhino Records.

"Sparkling in the Sand" became a #1 ballad in the San Francisco Bay Area with major airplay on defunct AM radio station, KDIA, then local pop stations, KYA and KFRC and then eventually a standard oldie on FM stations, KSOL and KBLX. It was considered one of the big graduation songs for the high school class of 1971 in the San Francisco Bay Area.
