Orphaned non-free media (File:Twin Skies Logo.png)
Thanks for uploading File:Twin Skies Logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:45, 11 May 2013 (UTC)

Hi, I haven't talked to you for a very long time (guess there was no point)! Can you be so kind and see this user's sandbox? He is in need of a photo of Damon Matthew Wise which he claimed can be found on his official website, Facebook, and bunch of Irish Damon Matthew Wise-related sites.--Mishae (talk) 02:00, 30 August 2013 (UTC)
- Hey! Sorry for this very late reply - I wasn't active when you left me that message. Not sure if you found an answer, but here is mine either way (better late than never, eh?): the images he mentions are most likely copyrighted, and not released under a free license compatible with Wikipedia. Copyrighted files like video game covers or movie scenes are allowed to be used on Wikipedia, since no free alternative would realistically exist. A picture of a person, though, could be realistically freely licensed by its author, so it's required. Nice to hear from you! ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 07:00, 21 December 2013 (UTC)

Bat Species in your photo
The bat species in your photo on Wikimedia (http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Dead_Bat.jpg#file) is the big brown bat, Eptesicus fuscus. It also appears to be a juvenile bat (you can tell by the proportion of ears to head and body size).

SVG
Quick question. I downloaded Inkspace and opened the file. But I feel like I'm missing something. I see that they have the states outside the margins of the image for users to just move into place, but they don't fit right. Am I missing something? Thank you! EvergreenFir (talk) 06:28, 21 December 2013 (UTC)
- Hrm...I opened it up and experimented a bit. You're right that the states don't fit exactly, but it's, well, close enough. That's just the design - if you look at the navy-colored states already placed onto the map, such as Massachusetts, they don't fit exactly, either. That's fine though, and it turns out all right in this situation where 100% border-exactness isn't needed. If you click and drag the state you want (yea Utah!), position it the best you can, and give it the white border, I think it should be fine :) ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 06:39, 21 December 2013 (UTC)

Bloons TD
Hey! Thanks for the help at the Teahouse!
I was wondering if you could point me toward what needs cleaning up in the Bloons Tower Defense article. The article also lacks citations; do you know a good place to find refs for video games?
Thank you! Bananasoldier (talk) 21:18, 30 December 2013 (UTC)
- No problem! Happy to help.
- Regarding the article, great job so far. It's been a while since I've worked on article content and I'm not the hottest in that department, but I'll give the article a look. This seems like a good way for me to get back into it ;)
- Overall coverage of each game looks good, but I also think it's a bit long. Excessive gameplay detail isn't desirable for an encyclopedia, such as lists of all the types of towers, bloon colors, etc. (particularly for Bloons TD 4). Focusing on the key features and biggest changes between each game (graphics, game modes, new features, etc.) are the most important.
- I think the next best place to look at is the reception section, since it only mentions a couple of games right now. It's complicated since it's going to cover the entire series. I'd look at the Grand Theft Auto series' reception section as a good example; we can provide an overall impression of the entire series, then get into game-specific ratings (with a table?).
- Also, question: I believe the article should be moved to Bloons TD, since the series seems to have been renamed? Unless I'm missing something.
- For reliable sources related to video gaming, Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Sources provides more information than you could ever want about video game sourcing. This list provides a comprehensive list of commonly accepted sources, along with custom Google searches set up so your search only returns results from the listed websites. Hope this helps! ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 00:59, 31 December 2013 (UTC)
- Whoa! I really appreciate your extensive coverage. Thanks! Bananasoldier (talk) 02:56, 31 December 2013 (UTC)
- Yeppp! Feel free to ask if need anything else :) ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 02:59, 31 December 2013 (UTC)
- Is it okay for me to copy your advice to the article's talk page so I can easily reference it there and others may see it? Thanks! Bananasoldier (talk) 07:04, 31 December 2013 (UTC)
- Go for it - just make sure you quote it for reference =) ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 07:10, 31 December 2013 (UTC)

You were supportive of the idea that Jehochman proposed: "A message is most effective when it matches the format of the media. We're an encyclopedia. On Feb 11, I suggest we fill our front page with articles, blurbs and news about mass spying and privacy. That will send a strong message, and help educate people. It's sort of like what we do on April 1, except serious instead of foolish."
Since this proposal received so much support, I and several others have done our best to begin the process of implementation. That said, the proposal is very controversial with Main Page insiders who have, understandably, objections that boil down to WP:NOTADVOCATE.
It's valuable to have feedback from people who oppose any deviation from the status quo, but we really need feedback from people who understood Jehochman idea, supported it, and could tell us whether we're succeeding in "implementing the vision" that Jehochman laid out and how to improve the proposal.
If you have the time, would you lend your view over at Wikipedia:Surveillance awareness day. If you want to see a list of custom content that could be available, we have a Arbitrary mockup #2, that shows lots of proposed content on one page.
Your feedback is most appreciated. --HectorMoffet (talk) 09:55, 20 January 2014 (UTC)
- Awesome to see the proposal come this far! I've been a bit busy this weekend, but I'll try to provide input where I can. Thanks for the update, ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 20:24, 20 January 2014 (UTC)
Hey! I was wondering if you'd be interested in doing a collaboration for Draft:Honest Kids, which is a juice brand. Thanks, --Bananasoldier (talk) 05:26, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
- I've been a bit busy, but I'd love to help. I'm not sure about the availability of sources, though - do you think it might be better as a section in the Honest Tea article? ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 07:37, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, I agree. As far as I know, Honest Kids doesn't have a logo, either. We'd have the freedom to work with all the other brands as well as the company's history, etc. Bananasoldier (talk) 16:35, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
- Looking at the Honest Tea article history, I noticed an edit war that occurred between August 19, 2013 and August 22, 2013 between MrOllie and Bethesda36. I have no experience in dispute resolution, and I was wondering if you know how to deal with these situations. Thanks, --Bananasoldier (talk) 17:36, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
- Expanding Honest Kids sounds good to me, then! As for the edit war, there's really nothing to do at this point. Usually when there's an active edit war going on, you'd want to follow the instructions here, which could involve warning the users, or reporting them to the edit warring noticeboard depending on the circumstances. Since that edit war took place months ago though, there's nothing to do - blocks are to prevent disruption and encourage change, not to punish. ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 20:07, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
