"No Place That Far"
Song

No Place That Far is a song on the No Place That Far album by Country Music singer Sara Evans. The song was the albums second release.

Song Information

The song was inspired by Evans husband, Craig Schelske, and the love they share between them. This song was a message to her husband that no matter how far they may be form each other, there's no place that far that she wouldn't travel to be with him. Evans would also use he husband to inspire other songs on later albums such as "Perfect" and "The Secrets That We Keep." The song was written with Tony Martin and Tom Shapiro, there partnership was immediantly fruitfull and Evans would co write with them many times in the future. Many of there songs have became huge hits for Evans, such as "I Keep Looking" and "Perfect". The song features harmonies by Vince Gill and the song builds up to the final chorus where Evans vocals are most displayed, causing her to belt "If I had to run, f I had to crawl, if I had to swim a hundred rivers, just to climb a thousand walls..." Though not as much as others, "No Place That Far" is considered to be one of Evans signiture songs and is also a fan favorite.

Chart Information

"No Place That Far" was the first number one hit of Evans' career. She has had four singles before that not make the top fourty, and many believe she came to Nashville fourty years to late as her traditional country sound was being ignored. "No Place That Far" blended traditional country sound with the pop-country tune that was more radio friendly than her past single. This single alone gathered Evans a loyal fanbase and secured her position at RCA Records and alianated any concerns about her ability to deliver a song during the late 90's pop-country phase.

Lyrics

I can't imagine, any greater fear

Then waken up, with out you near

And though the sun, will still shine on

My whole world, would all be gone

But not for long

Chorus

If I had to run

If I had to crawl

If I had to swim a hundred rivers

Just to climb a thousand walls

Always know that I would find a way

To get to where you are

There's no place that far

It wouldn't matter, why we're apart

The lonely miles, two stubborn hearts

And nothing short, of God above

Could turn me away, from your love

I need you that much

repeat chorus

Oh if I had to run

(if I had to run)

Of I had to crawl

(If I had to crawl)

If I had to swim a hundred rivers

Just to climb a thousand walls

Always know that I would find a way

To get to where you are

There's no place that far

Baby there's no place that far
