In addition to the festival The UK Film Festival runs a script competition with a prize that they make the winning script into a film. 2012 year’s winner - “Mike” was co-produced by the UK Film Festival has just won the Crystal Bear for best short film in the Berlin Film Festival (Berlinale 2014). “Mike” is the first ever British film to win this prestigious award and it has now been signed up for a worldwide distribution.
