The Courier-Journal (or "C-J") is the main newspaper for the city of Louisville, Kentucky, and is the de facto state newspaper of Kentucky. The paper, founded in 1868, was bought by Gannett in 1987. The C-J has received nine Pulitzer Prizes, and is read by around half a million people daily.

The Courier-Journal also owns the alternative weekly paper Velocity.
