"Back That Thing Up"
Song

"Back That Thing Up" is the title of a song written by Jeremy Stover and Randy Houser and recorded by American country music artist Justin Moore, who released it in July 2008[1] as his debut single and the lead-off from his self titled debut album, which was released in August 2009. This song debuted at number 55 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart for the week of August 23, 2008 and peaked at number 38 four months later. A music video was directed by Wes Edwards.

Content

The song uses elements of country rap and country rock as well as sexual innuendo to describe a girl who is handling equipment on the farm (e.g. "Throw it in reverse, let Daddy load it up").

Reception

It got a "thumbs up" review from The 9513's Jim Malec, who noted that the lyrics "separated (at least semantically), the inherent innuendo from the song's story itself", as in the final verse, he negates the song's innuendo by singing "ain't no time to play".[2]

Music video

The music video was directed by Wes Edwards and premiered in July 2008.[3]
