Hey there [[User:JzG]], my apologies for the lack of understanding on my part. I am in fact not Ms. Di Giovanni, but I am trying to balance out the content written on her wiki. My mistake has been obviously citing third-party sources (which I thought I did using the AOAV citation for her TED talk, but maybe not.) I am simply trying to stop several other users from simply deleting the majority of the wiki and simply leaving the Controversy section. I have no problem leaving a Controversy section, because that would balance out the rest of the page, however, it is not acceptable that it is the only thing that stands. |
|||
Anyway, once my block is lifted tomorrow, I will re-cite some of the content, keep the Controversy section, and take out any "glorifying" language. |

Thanks for the input otherwise! |

Janine di Giovanni
Your edits to Janine di Giovanni are being reverted because they fail our content policies. For example, they include peacock terms, content is sourced to primary not secondary sources, and much of it has no independent source.
The TED section is a perfect example. You write that she gave a TED talk, the source being an inline link to the talk. That is wrong on two counts: inline links to external websites are not in line with our style guide, and the source is a primary source not a secondary one. You then go on to say how popular it was but your sources for that are TED and her own page on an employer website, neither of which is independent. If you want to discuss the TED talk you need to find a reliable independent secondary source that discusses it and places the number of views in context. TED talks typically have very high view counts, after all.
You can ask for help at the biography noticeboard. Guy (Help!) 09:30, 20 March 2014 (UTC)
Blocked
I have blocked you from editing for 24 hours. This is primarily to get your attention. You are engaged in an edit war and you are not reading and learning from the comments others are making to you. Please confirm that you have read and understood the section on sourcing above.
When you've done this, you can request an unblock. Any passing admin can unblock you as long as you have understood the problem. Guy (Help!) 13:14, 20 March 2014 (UTC)
