Kevin Gerard Schmidt (born August 16, 1988), formerly best known as the chubby, clarinet-playing son "Henry" in the blockbuster Cheaper by the Dozen films or as “Noah Newman” on the #1 daytime drama The Young and the Restless. Schmidt also co-starred with Selena Gomez as the character “Bull” in the Disney Channel Original Movie, Princess Protection Program. In addition, Schmidt starred on Cartoon Network’s first live-action scripted television series, Unnatural History. Schmidt also co-created, starred in, produced, and directed a cult web-series, Poor Paul. Schmidt continues to write, direct, and act, but he has also begun to give back to the global community. Schmidt is President of Conscious Human Initiative; a non-profit entity with a mission to alleviate malnutrition worldwide.

Career

Schmidt did not set out to work in the entertainment industry. As a talented football player and student, Schmidt seemed content with these activities early in life. However, as his two brothers Kenneth Schmidt and Kendall Schmidt began finding success as actors in Los Angeles, California, Schmidt was finally persuaded to start auditioning. He was ten years old when he began to book a string of guest-starring roles on prime time television. Schmidt’s resume includes many notable television hits from dramas such as NCIS, BONES, Without a Trace, CSI:NY - to quirky comedies like HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm and USA’s Monk. Schmidt also found success on the big screen. In addition to the Cheaper by the Dozen films, Schmidt co-starred with Ashton Kutcher in The Butterfly Effect. In Catch That Kid, Schmidt added Kristin Stewart to his list of talented co-stars. Transitioning to leading man, Schmidt starred in the indie thriller Resurrection Mary as well as the family hit Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel.

Having undergone his own personal metamorphosis at age 17, from chubby kid to young leading man, Schmidt shared what he has learned about fitness and health on his directorial debut project entitled The Alyson Stoner Project. Teaming up with good friend and dance prodigy, Alyson Stoner, the pair produced an instructional musical/fitness hybrid that uses the latest dance moves to get the body moving. ASP not only teaches kids the importance of fitness, nutrition, and making good lifestyle choices, but also does so in a fun, relatable way. Schmidt is developing The Alyson Stoner Project concept into a weekly TV series.

In addition, Schmidt is in production on The Great Migration, an animated film he wrote and is producing alongside Rob Minkhoff, director of the Disney classic, The Lion King. The film stars his younger brother, Kendall, Logan Henderson, Ashley Tisdale, Vanessa Hudgens, and Ashley Benson.

With an acting career that continues to flourish, Schmidt is excited about expanding his creativity behind-the-scenes. He’s also a passionate advocate for sustainable farming methods like ‘aquaponics’ and hopes to be a vessel to ending malnutrition and obesity worldwide. Schmidt continues to be an avid workout enthusiast. He loves to cook and is, at this very moment, hard at work reducing his carbon footprint.
