JJ Engelbrecht (born 22 February 1989 in Port Elizabeth) is a South African rugby union footballer who plays as a wing or outside centre for the Template:Rut Bulls in Super Rugby and the Template:Rut Blue Bulls in the Currie Cup.[1][2]

Career

Provincial rugby

Engelbrecht graduated from Grey High School in the Eastern Cape. He was a member of their first XV rugby team.[3] He previously represented Western Province before making the move north along with team-mates Johann Sadie and Lionel Cronjé ahead of the 2012 Super Rugby season.[4]

In 2013, he signed a contract extension to keep him at the Template:Rut Blue Bulls until 2016.[5]

Representative rugby

He made his debut for South Africa on 18 August 2012 against Argentina, coming on as a 70th minute substitute.[6]
