Although this article has working internal links to Turner Construction and Castle & Cooke, I am not sure if these link to articles about the correct companies that Tom Leppert worked for. Does anyone know if these links are correct? If not, does anyone know if articles on the correct companies exist in Wikipedia? Andrea Parton (talk) 19:45, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

They appear to be the correct companies. Here's a Turner Corporation press release from 1999 naming Leppert Chairman and CEO.[1] This feature story says that Leppert worked for "Castle & Cooke Inc., a real estate development subsidiary of Dole Food Co. Inc."[2]LonghornsFan2011 (talk) 07:41, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Unsupported assertions about Leppert's political positions

Upon checking the Dallas Morning News article cited in the opening paragraph of "Political Life", I discovered that only one of the assertions in the paragraph was fully supported by the source- the statement that Leppert supports "green" building standards. The Morning News article states that Leppert supports a convention center hotel, but does not elaborate about the costs or Leppert's reasoning for promoting the idea. Although I personally agree that Leppert's positions on several issues may be characterized as liberal or centrist, the article does not characterize Leppert's positions one way or the other, and it doesn't matter what I think- what matters is what verifiable published sources say. The assertion that fiscal conservatives have criticized Leppert is also unreferenced. However, rather than start an edit war, I invite the original writer to find verifiable sources, which should not be a hard thing to do given the amount of criticism Leppert has garnered for making various grand proposals while city revenues are faltering. I suggest checking the Dallas Observer, which tends to be more openly critical of Leppert than the Morning News. Carguychris (talk) 15:58, 16 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

New position at Kaplan, Inc.

Hello, I work at Kaplan and would like to update Leppert's page to include information about his new position. I propose adding one sentence to the introductory text at the top of the page, and one to the "Business career" section. They will be sourced with the Kaplan press release at http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20130108006472/en/Kaplan-Appoints-Tom-Leppert-President-COO.

The sentence in the intro will read "In January 2013, Leppert was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of Kaplan, Inc."

The sentence in the "Business career" section will read "Leppert became President and Chief Operating Officer of Kaplan, Inc. in January 2013, assuming day-to-day oversight of the company's operating divisions: Kaplan Test Prep and Kaplan Higher Education in the United States, and Kaplan International, with operations across Europe, Asia, and Australia."

Hello, I'd like to make a few more changes. As Leppert is currently not a politician and works at Kaplan, I'd like to move the language at the end of the introductory paragraph to the beginning. As of April 2014, Leppert is now CEO of Kaplan, Inc., and I will be updating his information here to reflect that. Thanks! (See http://www.kaplan.com/about-kaplan/leadership/) MT wKaplan (talk) 19:24, 31 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
