Maan Karate is an upcoming Tamil romantic comedy film directed by Thirukumaran, a former associate of A. R. Murugadoss.[1] It stars Sivakarthikeyan, Hansika Motwani, Soori, Vamsi Krishna, Writer Shaji and Sathish [2] A. R. Murugadoss wrote the story for the film, which is produced by Escape Artist Motion Pictures and has music by Anirudh Ravichander. The film is scheduled to release on April 4, 2014

Cast

Production

A pooja for the launch of the film took place on 10 July followed by a press meet. The film will be shot in Chennai, Bangalore and Athirapally during the first schedule and a couple of songs will be shot at Malta. Hansika will start shooting for her portions first while Siva Karthikeyan will join the team from the first week of August.[1]

The film was named after a dialogue spoken by Dhamu in Gemini (2002),[4] where he explains that Maan Karate means nothing more than how a deer runs away when in danger,[5] The film has been titled so because whenever there is a problem in his life, the hero Sivakarthikeyan fails to face them and runs for cover instead.

The shooting of the film has been completed and has entered post production phase. The climax was shot in a very grand set location in chennai. The outdoor set for the climax alone was set up at a staggering cost of INR 3 crores. Debutante Art director S. Rajamohan has already drawn in praise from critics and fellow artists for the massive set and grand feel to this "Fantasy" movie. A teaser was released on the midnight of Valentine's Day and received positive feedback. The audio and the trailer released on 16 March and also received very positive feedback and is a blockbuster.

Soundtrack

Soundtrack for the film has been composed by Anirudh Ravichander scoring for the second Sivakarthikeyan film after Ethir Neechal (2013). The audio was launched at sathyam cinemas(Chennai) on 16.03.2014. Again Anirudh Ravichander proves his music.
