Kandukur is a town and municipality in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India. Kandukur has a historic background. Skandapuri which was renamed as kandukur ruled during sri krishna devaraya.
Geography
Kandukur (earlier known as Skandapuri) is located at 15°12′59″N 79°54′15″E / 15.2165°N 79.9042°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 632 metres (2,073 ft). kandukur road

Telugu is the official languages of the state of Andhra Pradesh and is spoken very commonly in Kandukur.
Demographics
As of 2001[update] India census,[2] Kandukur had a population of 1,50,084. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Kandukur has an average literacy rate of 63%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 72%, and female literacy is 55%. In Kandukur, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Though Hindus form the majority of the population, Muslims and Christians have substantial presence across the city and are predominant in and around Old City. Iconic temples, mosques, and churches and Baptist Home Mission, Mission Compound was established in 1918 are housed in the city. There are 12

In 1990s Shirdi Saibaba Temple, Ayyappa Swamy Temple were came up.and ankamma talli devalayam is the most religious place for hindus. There are many churches.
