Collaborations list
How detailed should things like the collaborators list be? Because I can think of at least 4 or 5 artists off of the top of my head that definitely should be on that list, but a little research churned up maybe 10-20 more. If Tricky appears once on someone's album, should that count? What if he does a remix for someone? Or what if he writes a song but doesn't perform it, etc., etc.? I'm thinking that maybe if they do more than one song with Tricky, but then again..? Any thoughts? --AA 04:12 Dec 8, 2003 (UTC)
- A collaboration is usually something the two parties work on. So if he produces or appears on someone's album, I'd consider that a collaboration. A RMX is not necessarily a collaboration, only b/c 9 times out of 10 the original artist has no input - they are just the s ource material. Khal 16:21, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
Voice change
Does anyone know anything about the change in his voice from the noticable british accent(Massive Attack) to his current trademark rasp (Blow Back)? Best I can tell, it started around Pre-Millenium Tension. I haven't come across any web sites that make any mention of it.--24.6.31.215 22:51, 5 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Hawkman link
The link to Hawkman goes to the DC Comics character. I think Hawkman the artist should have his own page, but I don't know anything about him.
Grease?
Does anyone have info about that Grease link under the "other projects" header? I can't find anything about this and there is no source shown. I can't imagine he would have anything to do with that. A remake of "Beauty School Dropout" perhaps? I was going to remove it from the article but figured I'd ask first. I'm thinking someone is getting it confused with the whole "DJ Muggs & Grease" connection? -- eo 05:25, 23 November 2005 (UTC)
- I believe that's GREASE as in Dame Grease, a Hip-Hop producer. I'm ignorant to URLs in wikipedia, so here is the web address to his myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/damegrease - it lists this:
"TRICKY With DJ MUGGS & GREASE
" Hot Like A Sauna" "I Like The Girls" "For Real" "Bom Diggy" " Khal 16:29, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
Missing
There are two things definetly missing here: weblinks and a picture.. (I added two links for fun, but they don't show really good imagery).
Durban Poison
There are so many other things to include... how about the label he runs/was running - Durban Poison. And his 'Back to Mine' compilation? And the 'Baby Namboos' - who I believe were his nephews? Finley Quaye once claimed to be Tricky's nephew too. Then what about the 'Drunkenstein' project of the late '90s - what happened to that? Oh, and what about the press's view that his music's perceived downturn in quality post PMT is due to his use of cannabis? And that the crap nature of the Muggs project was due to contract filling? I'll try to find citations for some of these... Malick78 18:59, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- Baby Namboos were cousins of his. I think Finley was a nephew or cousin as well, on his mother's side. There was a Drunkenstein project? From what I understood, he was just a hypeman... he was listed as "Drunkenstein" on the Grassroots EP, but when Tricky Kid was released on another project, the Drunkenstein moniker was gone. And his use of cannabis was part of what made him, I think its more of his exploration with other sounds post-OMT that caused a backlash. He went more into rock and other forms of noise as opposed to the bluesy hip-hop of his initial recordings... --Khal 20:09, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- Although the age difference makes it seem strange, Finley claimed to be his uncle (Maxine Quaye's sister). Both families originate from the same village in Ghana, but no link was ever proven. --MartinUK 18:23, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
"Tricky Kid"
any confirmation about this track being about Goldie? I gave it a listen this morning, and the references (coke in your nose, knock out your gold fronts, the king of jungle, etc.) are there, but I haven't seen an article on it... Khal 14:14, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
Tricky joins The Mongrel Mob
This might be worth mentioning. http://www.3news.co.nz/Tricky-patches-up-with-the-Mongrel-Mob/tabid/312/articleID/204487/Default.aspx — Preceding unsigned comment added by Redyorange (talk • contribs) 02:13, 12 November 2011 (UTC)
Requested move
- The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: pages moved. The one oppose offers no evidence that this is the primary topic, there seems at least rough consensus that there is no primary topic. Andrewa (talk) 18:05, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
– The musician is not the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC of this widespread dictionary term, and the musician is not more prominent than the set of other topics listed at Tricky (disambiguation). BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 10:07, 11 September 2013 (UTC)

- Oppose. If Tricky Stewart is commonly known just as Tricky then this should be Tricky (British musician) or something similar, if not then this is the primary topic. "Dictionary term" isn't relevant as Wikipedia is not a dictionary. Recentism is no reason to move unless there's something notable missing from the disambiguation page, as there's nothing with more long-term notability listed there; only Tricky Nichols is less recent and is almost certainly less notable - a WP:ATHLETE statistics stub with no awards mentioned.
