Sonag was a brother of [[Rao Asthan]], ruler of [[Kheda]]. The two brothers together conquered the town of [[Idar]] and Sonag settled there. Consequently, his male-line descendants are known as "Idariya [[Rathore]]s." |

Rao Sonag was a suryavanshi rajput of rathore cula. His father was Rao Shiva and his mother was a Chavdi rajputani. He was a brother of Rao Asthan the rathore ruler of Kheda.
History
He conquered Idar along with his brother Rao Asthan, and consequently his descendants bore the patrynomic Idariya rathores. Rathore Genealogy is here.
