Liang Yusheng (Chinese: 梁羽生; pinyin: LiángYǔShēng) (born 5 April 1926) is the penname of Chen Wentong (Chinese: 陈文统), a famous wuxia novelist born in Guangxi, China. Over his writing career, he has created a total of 36 martial arts novels, of which Bride with White Hair(白发魔女传) and Lofty Waters Verdant Bow(雲海玉弓緣) are the most famous. He was also been described as the founder of modern wuxia fiction. Many of his novels have been made into TV shows and movies. In August 2004, he was granted an Honorary Doctorate by Hong Kong's Lingnan University, from where he originally graduated in 1948 and mojored in Economics. [1]
