Jozef Ján Matejka (born 10.03.1949, Trenčin, Slovakia) is a Slovak doctor and writer. After obtaining his Ph.D in Radiology, Matejka had started to devote more and more time to his much loved hobby which he had started as a child - writing poetry. In the year 2000, he had moved with his family to reside and work in Malta, which inspired him to write, and later on publish his first book: Príležitostné Básne, a collection of his poems. He currently has four published books. During the course of writing and publishing his books, he had worked with two Slovak painters and a photographer, who had helped him with the illustrations for his books.
