History

Rikuzen-Sannō Station opened on August 15, 1933 opened as Tagajō-mae Station (多賀城前駅). The station was renamed to its present name on May 1, 1944. The station was absorbed into the JR East network upon the privatization of the Japanese National Railways (JNR) on April 1, 1987.
