A brownie for your work at George Irumbayam

Thank you for tagging the article George Irumbayam with relevant templates, it's good to see a new comer, I welcomed a few days ago, working hard! (Rovinemessage) 21:24, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, no problem! That's what I'm here for. :)

Copy edit banner on Paeromopus paniculus?

Hi there, you placed a copy-edit template on Paeromopus paniculus without explanation. I fixed a single incomplete sentence, is this what you intended to address? Kindly feel free to specify additional copy editing (I know how easy it is to miss simple mistakes when reading one's own work), otherwise I will remove the banner. Cheers! --Animalparty-- (talk) 23:59, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for letting me know. I re-read the article, and it appears that all copy edits that I noticed the first time 'round have been fixed. I also may have seen something else and marked it by mistake, I'm not sure.
Feel free to remove the template from Paeromopus paniculus.

deletion tags

It may not be obvious, but there's a requirement that when you place a deletion tag on an article--whether speedy, prod, or afd, that you say so specifically in the edit summary. The purpose is to help us overworked admins identify the relevant edits when we check the article history.

BTW,if you are going to do deletion tagging, be sure to read carefully WP:Deletion policy and WP:CSD. Though I have been placing these and reviewing them for years, I myself find it helpful to reread them slowly in detail every few months, to make sure I'm following the standards exactly. DGG ( talk ) 02:29, 12 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for alerting me about this. I did not realize that I had to fill out the article summary for deletion tags.
Also, I will make sure to re-read the deletion policies over again, to make sure that I am following Wikipedia guidelines.
Thanks again!

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Motor Trend, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Feature and Issue. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 08:56, 12 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Above .500 page

You mentioned how the article needs to be re-written, do you know where I can hire someone to help us out and write it for me according to Wikipedia standards. Thanks!

--Bassmfs (talk) 17:00, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know why you'd need to hire someone to rewrite it... Wikipedia has plenty of people who could probably help out, including me and you!
Just look around you (not literally, of course). I'm sure you could find someone to help you rewrite it - no payment nessicary.
Also, if you need anything, don't be afraid to ask me! I won't bite! :)
--Cargeek100 (talk) 01:54, 15 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, please will you help me rewrite the article according to Wikipedia standards. I tend to sound bias, is there a personal email, where I can get in contact with you. I would greatly appreciate it!

--Bassmfs (talk) 14:14, 15 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I could definitely help out - no problem!
On the other hand, I'd prefer not to give out my email. However, the article should have a talk page where we can communicate while rewriting the article. If not, we can easily create one.
Let me know when you would like to start!

contesting speedy deletion

Hi Recently a wiki page for Supercomputing Facility for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology. It has been tagged for speedy deletion. I cant find any advertisement or promotion. I would like to know which part of the article looks like promotion that can be altered if required. User:Izerokelvin — Preceding undated comment added 14:31, 12 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

From the introductory paragraph: "Supercomputing Facility for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, also known as SCFBio IIT Delhi, is a center of excellence in the area of Bioinformatics & Computational Biology in Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi."
From History: "The Supercomputing Facility for Bioinformatics and computational biology (SCFBio), IIT Delhi was established in July 2002 with funding from Department of Biotechnology under the guidance of Prof. B. Jayaram with a vision to develop novel scientific methods and new software's for genome analysis, protein strucutre prediction and in silico drug design."
From Vision: "Genome to Drug (Dhanvantari) is a powerful emerging Science & Technology with a potential to save millions of lives, man-hours and rupees."
Also from Vision: "The facility is committed towards providing free access of its bioinformatics and computational biology tools to the global user community."
Feel free to correct these and submit the article again for to me for review. Also, in the future, please post these questions/requests on the talk page of the article. Thanks!

You tagged this article for WP:CSD#A7. That entry of the speedy deletion criteria is reserved for articles that have no hope at all of surviving a full Articles for deletion debate, so they are quietly deleted to save time. However, in the article I see citations to multiple reliable sources, including CMJ, Music Week and Billboard. In my view, this article would be likely to result in a "Keep" vote at AfD, and therefore a speedy tag is wholly inappropriate. I would go as far as saying this tag (plus the template you put on the creator's talk page) is borderline disruptive. Please do not bite the newbies. PS: I notice you did not leave a edit summary, as DGG advised you to start doing upthread. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 14:28, 13 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to...
Also, I was pretty sure I left an edit summary. I might've forgotten, which I tend to do, but I was fairly sure that I left one.
--Cargeek100 (talk) 15:55, 13 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
No problems - I'm sure you acted with best intentions. To avoid leaving blank edit summaries, there's an option in Preferences - Editing called "Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary". Turn that on, and you'll be warned if you're about to put an edit with no edit summary on it. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 11:00, 15 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
