Revision as of 13:40, 21 July 2014

  • Comment: @Anne Delong, APerson, RadioFan, and DGG: This hasn't been significantly edited since APerson's decline of November 10 for lack of notability, but that is at odds with Anne Delong's comment of July 31. I was going to summarily decline as "no change since last decline" but then I noticed Anne's comment. Pinging past reviewers/commenters for input. My take: I have not checked the references for suitability, but if even a few of them are suitable and, together, the suitable references provide significant coverage, then WP:GNG is met. If not, then it is not met, but the person may still be notable, in which cases the submission should either be accepted and tagged as needing better references or declined pending better references. Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Nigeria may be a good place to ask for help if this isn't a clear-cut "accept" or "reject." @Ola olus: This would've been a lot easier to accept if you had edited the article after November 10 in a way that clearly addressed APerson's concerns of a lack of notability, and/or if you had worked with him on his talk page or at the AFC Help Desk to see what those concerns were. Also, a note for any reviewer that might accept this page: Please ask an administrator to help review the deleted versions of Magnus Kpakol and Magnus L. Kpakol to see if a history-merge is necessary. You can file this request at Wikipedia:Cut-and-paste-move repair holding pen. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 15:16, 18 February 2014 (UTC)
  • Comment: An article with the name Magnus L. Kpakol was deleted by @Jimfbleak: on 2012-03-05 as "G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion: unsourced biography of a living person".
An article with the name Magnus Kpakol was deleted by @Fastily: on 00:30, 5 January 2012 as "Expired PROD, concern was: Promotional biography with only self-published reference".
I have some concern that a WP:HISTMERGE to one or both of these older articles may be needed for attribution purposes. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 21:00, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
  • Comment: This submission probably needs more sources that reference the notability of the subject. APerson (talk!) 13:41, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
  • Comment: It seems as though Mr. Kpakol is a notable person, so it's important that his article be appropriately neutral and properly sourced, so that it will not be deleted again as has happened once already. First, please do not cite Dpedia, which copied the text from the now deleted Wikipedia article; this is circular referencing. Second, the references have been written in a way that it is difficult to tell the source of the information. Each reference should have only it's actual title, not on that you have made up expressing a point of view, plus the name of the publisher and date, and the name of the journalist or other author who wrote it if available. I have fixed one for you (Business Today). Mentioning Mr. Kpakol's accomplishments is appropriate, but commenting on their importance or effectiveness is not; the article writer should hold a neutral point of view about everything in the article. When these issues have been resolved, please submit the article again. —Anne Delong (talk) 21:52, 31 July 2013 (UTC)
