Pokiri(పోకిరి) is a 2006 Telugu movie directed by Puri Jagannadh. Mahesh Babu, Ileana, and Prakash Raj play the lead roles. Mani Sharma provided music.
Sypnopsis
Pandu (Mahesh Babu) is a mafia man who lives a life like a thug. He falls in love with Sruthi(Ileana), an aerobics instructor, at first sight. Because Pandu is a criminal, Sruthi hesitates to confess her love to him. After several incidents, Pandu gets involved in two rival gangs- Narayana gang and Ali Baba gang. He is now after Ali Bhai(Prakash Raj) who provoked him against Narayana gang. Pandu also loses his father because of Ali Baba. How Pandu tackles Ali Bhai in a new form is the rest of the plot.

- Pokiri is the biggest hit of Tollywood for the year 2006. Pokiri 5 weeks share Rs.25 Crores which is Highest gross for Tollywood and it is estimated that movie will cross the 40 crore mark soon.
- Pokiri is also being remade into Tamil with the same name with Vijay (actor) and Asin.
- There are chances that Pokiri might be remade in Hindi with Ram Gopal Verma directing it and Abhishek Bachchan playing the lead role.
