Ewa Wojkowska, a Polish-Australian social entrepreneur, is co-founder & COO of Kopernik [1], a non-profit organization based in Indonesia that connects simple technology with people in remote communities.

Early Life

Wojkowska was born in Poland and migrated to Australia in 1984, after her father, an activist and a leader in the Solidarity resistance movement, was threatened. Career

Wojkowska is the co-founder and COO of Kopernik, a non-profit organization based in Indonesia that connects simple technology with remote communities. Wojkowska and Toshi Nakamura launched Kopernik in 2010. Cite error: The opening <ref> tag is malformed or has a bad name (see the help page).Kopernik [7]</ref> Prior to Kopernik, Wojkowska managed the Human Rights and Justice programme for the United Nations Development Programme in Indonesia [3].

In this role she designed and implemented programs to improve Indonesians’ access to justice and legal empowerment. [4][5][6]

She initially joined the United Nations in 2000 as a United Nations Volunteer [7] and worked in the remote enclave of Oecusse, East Timor as a field officer.

Wojkowska is an Ashoka Fellow, [8], an Ashoka ChangemakeHER, [9], an Asia Society Asia 21 Young Leader [10], and a Rutgers University Social Entrepreneur of the Year. [11]
