Hello I am in the process of submitting an entry named Playdale Playgrounds. I was wondering if it was more suitable to be classed as a 'stub' entry rather than a full sized entry. If this is the case please could you tell me the best way to convert it to be a sub? |

My submission was denied. Curious why that is? Seems to fit the qualifications.. Thanks much. Rplinco (talk) 16:12, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
- My view is that this is an imperfect review of an imperfect but improvable article. I will leave some comments on the draft for you. Fiddle Faddle 17:13, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
- I have asked at WP:FILM for an experienced editor to give you some additional pointers. Do not wait for that to happen, but start already. WP:REFB is worth reading here. Fiddle Faddle 18:14, 5 August 2014 (UTC)

- Leilanifireclaytile (talk · contribs) (TB)
I can't seem to add my citations/references/links for more information&resources! Will this be easier once it is reviewed and approved or will the lack of sources hinder the process entirely?
Thanks!
Leilanifireclaytile (talk) 19:26, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
- The draft now resides at Draft:Fireclay Tile, but will need references. We require references from significant coverage about the entity, and independent of it, and in WP:RS please. See WP:42. WHat are the problems you are having? Reading WP:REFB may solve them. If it does not please come back and ask a further question. No need to start a new section, just use this old one and add your question to it.
- The draft will fail the review as it stands at present because both of lack of references and because it is written in a promotional style. Please cut, cut and then cut more text, leaving only neutral prose and making sure you have references in place. In addition it must pass WP:CORP Fiddle Faddle 19:37, 5 August 2014 (UTC)

05:48:02, 6 August 2014 review of submission by Wozamatod
I am looking for assistance in regard to this draft I have written. I am a new wikipedia editor, and I came to this site because I found out about this topic and wondered why it wasn't an article on the site. Almost all the sources are from old newspapers.
I wanted to know whether I have cited the sources correctly, and the I wanted to set up a few redirects to this article, as there are several names that the article could be called.
thanks Wozamatod (talk) 05:48, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
- @Wozamatod: I have started fixing the bare URLs using Reflinks so reviewers can more easily evaluate the sources. I think the subject will meet general notability. I recommend removing the trivia section and putting that content into appropriate prose sections. Redirects can be made once this submission is accepted so I wouldn't worry about that just yet. I created a new article and submitted it for review on July 19th. It's been almost 3 weeks and I haven't hard back from you?!! Is this normal?? I remember when I first submitted the article to be reviewed. It said that it should take up to 2 weeks?!! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Center_for_Advanced_Materials

- Declined for the reason stated on the draft. Reviews take arbitrary time periods. The volunteers review those they feel they have the skill to assess and help with. Most of us attempt to review the oldest submissions first. Fiddle Faddle 09:58, 6 August 2014 (UTC)

I would like to know how to add images to my article - I also have a table with programme statistics to add. Can you help please, thank you
BrightIdeaNI (talk) 10:29, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
- New users, which I assume you are, have a sort of probationary period during which picture upload is impossible, so you should concentrate on the draft itself for now. Before going too far with fancy stuff like tables I suggest you bolt the basics into place. Look, please, at WP:42 and also the possibility that your draft is promotional. It;s worth solving these things before worrying about the remainder. You shoudl also choose a different username. Yours is that of an organisation, which is against the rules. It will matter a lot as time passes. I commend Wikipedia:Changing username to you. Fiddle Faddle 11:07, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
- It is, though, a copyright violation of http://brightideani.com/wordpress/index.php/about-the-programme/ and may not remain here. Articles must be written in your own words. Fiddle Faddle 11:13, 6 August 2014 (UTC)

- @Olaniyan Olushola: Declined I moved your submission to Draft:Sikiru Ayinde Barrister so you may remove the redirect on your sandbox. The subject doesn't meet our notability criteria for musicians or general notability. You need to provide better sources like this, this, and this, for starters. When the article was initially reviewed, it was accepted as Start class with two cleanup banners: orphan and more citations needed. I have made edits which I believe address both of those issues, and if so I hope the cleanup banners can be removed. Also, any feedback on other changes I can make to improve the article's grade are much appreciated! Zarathuddite (talk) 16:59, 6 August 2014 (UTC) Zarathuddite (talk) 16:59, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
- Anyone, including you, may make any justifiable edits to articles, banners, classes etc. My personal view on classes is that I wish they were not perceived as so important, and that I would prefer them not to exist. My view is a minority view. If you feel enough work has been done to remove the banner or part of the banner, do so with a good heart. Remember to say what and why in the edit summary.
- My preference with articles is that we father them, and move on, not mother them and wrap them in warm towels in case they graze their knees. Fiddle Faddle 17:18, 6 August 2014 (UTC)

18:36:02, 6 August 2014 review of submission by Tgweeze
Hello, my draft page for Zeeto Media was recently declined. I couldn't find anything specific as to why it was declined and was wondering if you could please share with me the reasons it was not approved? I attached references as was requested back in June. Any suggestions on what to do next would be really appreciated. I know you guys are busy so I really appreciate any help you can give me. Thank you for your time. Tgweeze (talk) 18:36, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
- I think the answer is that there is nothing that indicates that the org passes WP:CORP. Ii was my hope when I reviewed it back in June that you would also take the opportunity to expand it. Most folk do that automatically, and I apologise for not being specific and suggesting it then. May I suggest you engage Missvain in a conversation to determine their rationale for not accepting? 22:23:31, 6 August 2014 review of submission by Chandalier
Hi, Sorry if I'm asking this in the wrong place or wasting anyone's time by asking an obvious question with no answer. I know that everyone who reviews articles is volunteering their time and I definitely don't want any special treatment and that it is about waiting until someone with an interest in the area reviews the page. What I wondered was, is there anyway to highlight the categories etc a new article for creation relates to for those who review the articles to help speed up the process/ cut down on wasting other people's time? The article I created (my first, and sorry I think I marked up the references wrong, but couldn't quite work out the right way and have been so busy in the last couple of weeks haven't had a chance to go back and change them) is about a golfer who meets the notability 3, 5 & 6 and I was really surprised she didn't have a page which is why I created one. I thought maybe a reviewer with an interest in women's sport or golf might want to review it, but don't know how to flag it up to them.
Sorry again if this is the wrong place and if you've answered a similar question elsewhere and I've missed it. Thanks for reading! Chandalier (talk) 22:23, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
- We don't normally do special requests here, but because the article was so well done, with sources, categories and good formatting, I couldn't resist. Well done! Sionk (talk) 23:45, 6 August 2014 (UTC)

- Avijit.gangopadhyay (talk · contribs) (TB)
I submitted a new article on "Feature Models in Oceanography" with References. The Article needs SIX (6) Figures. How do I inset Figures in the Sandbox?
And, the references seemed have lost their formatting while "copying and pasting" in the Sandbox. Please let me know if I am supposed to enter a blank line between each references.
Thank you for your assistance. Also, please suggest if any improvements to the article (format, fonts, placement of figures etc.) can be done to make it reader-friendly. Avijit.gangopadhyay (talk) 00:47, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
- @Avijit.gangopadhyay: Be advised I moved your submission to Draft:Oceanographic feature models so you may remove the redirect from your sandbox if you wish. I also made your long list of references bulleted, to reduce confusion. See WP:CITE to learn how to cite sources in Wikipedia. To add figures, use the file upload wizard. Once your image is added, you can insert the image into the draft. I've invited you to try the Wikipedia Adventure to learn the coding you'll need to better write articles.
- I'm concerned about your draft because it looks like you're recreating the work of Avijit Gangopadhyay. Be advised that Wikipedia cannot host copyrighted work, even if you wrote the original. Read our guide on donating material if you own the copyright to the works you're using if you have copied from them substantially. Your draft is also very technical, so you want to write for the average Wikipedia reader. Chris Troutman (talk) 22:14, 7 August 2014 (UTC)

Hi,
I'm trying to submit an entry for money.co.uk, it's the fifth largest comparison website in the UK. It sits behind, Moneysupermarket.co.uk, GoCompare, uSwtich and Compare the Market - all of which have Wiki pages which we'd like to link to. There is very little information in the public domain about money.co.uk as they have never carried out PR or advertising activity so I feel wiki is a great place if people want information about the business. It is a genuine website with 2.5 million visitors a month.
Could you please advise me of what I need to do to get this uploaded?
Many thanks Tracy
- Hi Tracy, your explanation speaks for itself. If Money.co.uk has not publicised itself, it will be difficult to prove it is widely known, which is a basic requirement before getting a Wikipedia profile. If you are connected to the company, maybe you could suggest they begin to market themselves, rather than use Wikpedia as a shortcut. Sionk (talk) 10:01, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
10:48:46, 7 August 2014 review of draft by Odubhain
I submitted this article weeks ago and feel unsure as to whether it is in the queue for review or not. The two notifications in the draft seem to contradict one another. What is its status?
Odubhain (talk) 10:48, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
- It is safely queued for review. Fiddle Faddle 21:06, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
- @Odubhain: And it has been subsequently Declined. First, half of the article is a long listing of every podcast and brief activity the subject has ever done, which violates WP:NOTDIRECTORY. Due to a general lack of independent and reliable sources, there's no evidence subject passes general notability or nobility criteria specific to authors. This is just another sad promotional attempt. Chris Troutman (talk) 21:27, 7 August 2014 (UTC)

Create a link on your main userpage that looks like this - [[User:Françoise Very/Name of the new article]] - then you click on that (red) link and start the new draft. 20:24:27, 7 August 2014 review of draft by Lkt1970
I submitted a draft for review, and when I went back to double check, the page read that it wasn't submitted yet. I pressed Save Edits to submit, but I am still having trouble. I submitted my draft nearly 2 weeks ago, I believe, and was hoping to have some response by now, but still nothing. So again, when I went back to double check, it said my draft wasn't submitted for review, so I followed the steps, and it said it saved, but I'm weary now.
Any help? Lkt1970 (talk) 20:24, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
- @Lkt1970: Declined because it doesn't meet either our notability criteria for movies our our general notability rule. The movie hasn't been reviewed by either Roger Ebert, Rotten Tomatoes, or the other usual suspects which leads me to believe it's not notable. You have only one good reference, The Globe and Mail, but that's really it. (I don't know how reliable Canadian Jewish News is.) I found this one brief mention in a journal. Also, it reads promotionally and doesn't even cover necessary issues like plot, film release details, etc. Finally, rather than create a new article, develop the content at Maria Altmann#Legacy, Republic of Austria v. Altmann#Documentaries, or Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I#Film where it already exists. As you build a better section on the film, fork that content into a new article. 22:15:44, 7 August 2014 review of submission by Odubhain
I'd like some more information as to why all the citations in the article I submitted were summarily dismissed as "references" and said to be from the same sources. Actually about 85% of the citations were from publishers, newspaper articles, television show episodes, other people's interviews of the subject, and merchants (like Amazon and iStore, etc.), I know that Wikipedia is on a "notable" kick right now so I removed those references until I have a better feel for what sets off people's "hot buttons" there and would like a fair and impartial new review or some more detailed reasons as to why perfectly good references and citations are being rejected. If I put more citations in the article than I already have, then it will be mostly citations and no meat. I'm certain that is not what anyone would want to read. Odubhain (talk) 22:15, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
23:40:56, 7 August 2014 review of submission by Odubhain
I'm clear as to why the notable section was rejected even though I disagree with the general approach. I've removed that section entirely and do not believe that there is much wrong with the rest of the submission as it is modeled after several similar pages that are already published on Wikipedia. It is better than some and not as good as others and the citations are as valid as any others. Odubhain (talk) 23:40, 7 August 2014 (UTC)

04:39:51, 8 August 2014 review of submission by Alrich44
I have submitted my first article and was notified that it was approved, that is one reviewer put an okay, green check box on it. However, it is still in draft, so it hasn't moved. So, I'm wondering if it takes more than one approval.
I searched Help. Read the new article pages, and took a couple more runs at searching for the answer. "How many approvals does it take for a new article?" What is the approval process?
...still wondering. I usually hit the live chat Help, but thought I would try this one. Thanks!
Alrich44 (talk) 04:39, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
- It was not accepted previously, and I cannot see in your talk page history, at least easily, where it was notified as accepted. No matter. I have given it a very detailed review today. I am pushing it back to you for what appears to be a good deal of further work, but which I hope you will see as a polish. I am very encouraged by the overall quality of this draft as my final remarks in the review indicate. This is not so much a rejection as a hope for excellence. A couple of my points are gating factors for acceptance in my view, but they are small work to overcome. Fiddle Faddle 06:57, 8 August 2014 (UTC)

13:13:51, 8 August 2014 review of submission by Washoe42
I just submitted an draft article for review, but I expected to see some kind of form asking for my intended title. I never actually put a title on it in the sandbox, and I've only edited articles before, not created them. How do I give the article a title?
Also, there is a box at the bottom, now that I've submitted, that says "Warning: This page should probably be moved, but a page already exists at Draft:Sandbox." It has an option for me to move it to "Draft Space." Should I do this? I don't really understand the difference between "Draft:Sandbox" and "Draft Space."
Thank you in advance for your help!
Washoe42 (talk) 13:13, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
- The suffix "/sandbox" (which is case sensitive) is simply one of an infinite number of suffixes that may follow your user name. It would thus be possible to create any number of sandbox pages. User:Washoe42/Flame of Hope (diabetes) would have been a good name choice, because the title Flame of Hope is already taken and is being used as a disambiguation page. As it is, I Accepted your draft as Flame of Hope (diabetes). I am sure it will stand further improvement, but your role, now, is to act as its father and let it graze its knees, not as its mother and wrap it in warm towels in case it grazes its knees. On to the next draft! Call it what you will. And, even if you just overwrite everything in your sandbox we will find a good name for it when we accept it. Fiddle Faddle 15:13, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
- Just an additional note that if you want to edit your sandbox (to create a second, different new article there about something else), you would use this link to go there without being redirected to your newly accepted article Flame of Hope (diabetes). Arthur goes shopping (talk) 17:44, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks so much, this is all very helpful! One last question - when editing new things in my sandbox, am I safe to delete the "#redirect" in my sandbox, or should I leave it where it is? If I leave it, I can just edit above it, right? Hope these questions make sense... Thanks again :) Washoe42 (talk) 18:14, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
- @Washoe42 - Yes, remove the old redirect when you start something new. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 18:35, 8 August 2014 (UTC)

However, I cant seem to submit it. It tells me "Draft article not currently submitted for review." Please can you submit it for review for me. thank you.

I've submitted the following article, but for some reason it was not accepted for review? Maybe a format issue?
Here is the article:

- @IllusionPictures: Declined It doesn't meet our criteria for fiction, which includes television. You need to add more independent reliable sources to make a case for notability. Yes, I would also fix the formatting and change your username. Chris Troutman (talk) 02:10, 10 August 2014 (UTC)

Have added the citation as required, thus requesting for a rereviw.
- Declined A great deal of work is required to cut out the promotional aspects and reflect only that material verified in WP:RS. Fiddle Faddle 09:03, 10 August 2014 (UTC)

I would like to know if (and how) I can upload an image or images to my article whilst it is under review? Thanks
Zinfandelorganic (talk) 09:28, 10 August 2014 (UTC)
- New editors are in a kind of limbo when they must await the expiry of certain gating factors prior to being able to upload and include images. Once those expire you may upload images that are suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, or, more usefully, in Commons
- The article is in a state at present where it has been Declined and a comment has been left on it detailing the reason. There is substantial work to do without getting distracted with picture addition. This is the time to go for substance, not decoration. Fiddle Faddle 11:44, 10 August 2014 (UTC)

This is my first time creating a wikipedia article, and I am having some trouble formatting the citations correctly. Things like "ignored" are coming up and I'm not sure why. I just need a bit of guidance please!
Vfleish (talk) 16:28, 10 August 2014 (UTC)
- I have handled almost all of the errors for you. You had omitted the parameter name url= before the http string. One problem remains with a missing title= parameter name, but this is to facebook so is unlikely to be a suitable reference. You also have a direct reference to "amazon.com/gp/product/1611686032/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=1611686032&linkCode=as2&tag= " which is blacklisted. If it is a book use {{Cite book}} and note that the isbn= parameter comes into its own here. We do not ever link directluy to sales sites. Fiddle Faddle 16:37, 10 August 2014 (UTC)
- I have, by the way, commented this reference out so I could save my work. That is the <!-- some text or other --> syntax inside your draft. Fiddle Faddle 16:41, 10 August 2014 (UTC)

My article about Satair Group was deleted. Does that mean that I have to give up on having it Wikipedia, or can I change something? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Muvese57 (talk • contribs) 12:04, 11 August 2014 (UTC)
- Your submission was not deleted, it was merely declined (not published yet), and it is at Draft:Satair. Even better news is that the reviewer has left advice on that page about the organisation likely being notable by Wikipedia's standards, and advice for you on how to improve the draft to make its notability clear. Once done, resubmit it. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 12:27, 11 August 2014 (UTC)

Hello I am in the process of submitting an entry named Playdale Playgrounds. I was wondering if it was more suitable to be classed as a 'stub' entry rather than a full sized entry. If this is the case please could you tell me the best way to convert it to be a sub?
Thank you
