Nalla Reddi Naidu was born on 13 January 1917 in [[Edarada]], [[East Godavari District]], [[Andhra Pradesh]] in a Zamindari family. He was the grandson of [[Rao Bahadur]] [[Sir Kurma Venkata Reddy Naidu]], who was the Governor General of erstwhile Madras State. The family lived in Nalla Street, [[Amalapuram]]. He graduated in Law at the [[University of Pune|Pune University]] and was junior to Shri [[P. V. Narasimha Rao]] at the University. He was very actively involved in India's Freedom movement and also later in farmer's movement in 1954.
