Gupta had opposed the [[Voluntary Disclosure of Income Scheme]] tooth and nail even when it was at the implementation stage and was the first to complain about the manner in which "silver laundering'' was being done by declarants.<ref>[http://www.hindu.com/2000/06/22/stories/0222000l.htm Cricketers' income being probed], 22 June 2000</ref> |

==Youtube Interviews== |
|||
In a series of interviews<ref>{{YouTube|AnxrJiS5uKU}}</ref> widely circulated and viewed on YouTube Mr. Gupta talks about various subjects and gives the most bizarre, ludicrous and weird explanations. One of the most prominent and the bizarre one is his description of Cloud Computing and his explanation of why Unique ID card scheme will not work because there may be a leakage of data from cloud if it is raining. In this interview Mr. Gupta also talks about the risks of data getting into wrong hands if a mobile phone is resold or recycled, he says in the interview that over a period of time data from the SIM card gets copied to the battery of the mobile phone and this data can later be retrieved from the battery.<ref>http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/tech/tech-news/Cloud-computing-is-unreliable-in-a-storm-Former-I-T-commissioner/articleshow/9834345.cms</ref> |
