Career

Girl's Day

On July 07, 2010 Sojin debuted as a member of Girl's Day on KBS Music Bank with their debut single, Tilt My Head.[3] On October 29, after the two members leave the group leaving Sojin,Jihae and Minah Girlsday Cameback with a new line-up adding Two new Members Yura and Hyeri. On January 9, 2011 Sojin released her first solo single for the "Flames of Desire" OST. Although it's a remake of Gilme's version of the song, Sojin's clear vocals lends a bittersweet strength to the ballad.

In 2013, Sojin was chosen to sing two songs for two different dramas. She sang "Our Love Like this" for the drama Flame of Desire and "I Want to Turn Back Time' for Passionate Love.[4][5]

In April 2013, Sojin performed on Music Bank and Inkigayo with South Korean idol group Electroboyz and their song "Ma Boy 3" replacing After School's Nana.[6]

On March 2, 2014, Sojin collaborated with hip hop artist Crucial Star on a remake of Park Hye Kyung's song "Three Things I Want to Give You".[7]

Influences

Sojin says her biggest influence in life is Uhm Jung Hwa. She describes her as a long time leader of her generation and shows abundant expressiveness and depth.[8]

Health

On July 11, 2011, she suffered respiratory problems and was rushed to a hospital. A Dream Tea representative confirmed that this was due to a shortness of breath. Then, before her comeback promotions, she lost weight rapidly – decreasing from Template:Unit weight to Template:Unit weight, over a short period of time. During her promotions, she showed a lack of balance in her music show performances. Further tests determined that she was in no immediate danger, instead that she was suffering from stress regarding the busy schedule pending her comeback.[9]
