The filmography lists a 1998 version of the Rime of the Ancient Mariner (done by Orson Welles in 1975ish) so I'd like to see that. Trouble is, it doesn't show up in Mcgann's IMDB list, and the hyperlink in the filmography links to Coleridge's poem the film would be based on. This film just doesn't exist, so who put it there and why?[[Special:Contributions/82.43.250.74|82.43.250.74]] ([[User talk:82.43.250.74|talk]]) 23:24, 7 June 2013 (UTC)

WikiProject Biography Assessment

I'd like to see more citations and a top picture, but technically a B.

The article may be improved by following the WikiProject Biography 11 easy steps to producing at least a B article. -- Yamara 14:20, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Personal life

Somebody has added (with no source) that McGann came out as bisexual. I think this is plain and simple vandalism. There is no citation and if true this would have sparked more discussion amongst fans of McGann and of Doctor Who (McGann would be the first openly LGBT actor among the 11 "official" Doctor Who lead actors). I am LGBT myself so I'm all for it, but this is an extremely big claim to make with no support. Sevenofrhymes (talk) 16:47, 23 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is Annie McGann here. I have corrected information on this page and someone has changed it back again. I am fed up of journalists using this page with its inaccurate information as a source. Paul McGann is still married to Annie McGann (that's me) and you have got the dates all wrong. Shall I bother to edit it or is someone just going to change it back again? — Preceding unsigned comment added by AnnieMcGann (talkcontribs) 23:41, 5 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The part about Paul's family is wrong. it is true that his mum had twin boys but they were born prematurely and sadly they both died. They were called Joseph and John. Paul's brother Joseph was born in 1958 and obviously named for his dead brother. Paul's second name is John. Seems incredible that someone would take it upon themselves to make something like that up and give Joe a dead twin! — Preceding unsigned comment added by AnnieMcGann (talkcontribs) 23:58, 5 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Annie McGann again (sorry can't figure out how to do signature) Paul and his family lived in Birstall Road in Liverpool 6 as they were growing up and Liverpool is on Merseyside and NOT in Lancashire as someone keeps insisting on writing in (basic geography) Paul wasn't born in Birstall Road though; he was born in a house at the end of Lark Lane which is the area of Liverpool known as Sefton Park. If you need a citation for this I suggest you ask his mum. Not sure that is good enough for wikipedia - for his wife and his mum to correct information. Maybe I'll have to get someone to write an article so you can quote it. Hurmph. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AnnieMcGann (talkcontribs) 01:32, 6 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding 'Shame About the Boy' - Paul is not on either side of this record. He did not take part in the recording. If you look at a copy of the record you'll see this is so. It is therefore not a quartet but a trio. It has no reason to be mentioned on Paul McGann's page. Inaccurate Catherine Zeta Jones section

McGann was already living (I think?) with Annie Milner at the time the press reported him to be having a relationship with Zeta Jones, which all parties denied entirely. McGann reacted very badly to all this, I believe he started refusing to talk to the press following it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.28.13.51 (talkcontribs) 11:31, August 23, 2006 (UTC)

Well spotted. The entry was completely inaccurate and misleading, reporting the tabloid rumours without giving any indication that they were false. The cited Guardian article gives the real story, but the article cited it while presenting the tabloid story as truth! Thanks for the heads-up on that. —Josiah Rowe (talkcontribs) 17:16, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox

I changed the infobox from celebrity to actor, it has a few more useful things there. It seems that the celebrity one is used a bit, for some reason... which is preferred? El Zoof 00:37, 12 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

mcgannbrothers website

I run a website for Mark, Paul, Stephen and Joe McGann which has, for over a year, been an external link on their respective pages on wikipedia. The links were removed on 18th/19th January. I believe it is an appropriate link as it keeps interested parties updated on what the brothers are currently working on. I receive nothing for running this site and it contains no advertisements, it is purely an information site. I also update their wikipedia pages when I can. Please could you reinstate the link if possible. Micharris (talk) 17:55, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why wasn't Paul McGann used in the 2005 revival of Doctor Who?

Was he offered the job, or did the BBC just not want him?108.38.34.26 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 23:12, 22 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

As Stuart said in Queer as Folk, "Paul McGann doesn't count". --Redrose64 (talk) 14:47, 23 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
