Avinash Sachdev is an Indian television actor, mostly known for the role of Dev on the Hindi soap opera Chotti Bahu.[1] In 2014 he is playing the lead in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?...Ek Baar Phir on Star Plus, opposite Shrenu Parikh.

Early life and career

Born in Mumbai, Sachdev, the only child of Hindu parents, was intended at first for a police career.[2][3] As he prepared for the Indian Administrative Service exams, he also participated in several male beauty pageants. Sachdev moved to Mumbai to pursue his modelling career after winning titles like Mr Baroda, Mr University, and Mr Gujarat, all in the year 2004-2006 [4][5]His first notable acting role was in a TVS Scooty commercial with film actress Preity Zinta.[6]

In 2006, Sachdev secured his first television role in the soap opera Karam Apna Apna. He shot to fame after appearing in Chotti Bahu. it was his fourth television role. Near the end of the serial's first season, Sachdev's character, Dev, was thrown from a cliff to his death, but the popular character was revived for a second season with a new plot.[7] Sachdev has ventured in to business, openning a fashion store named 'Fashion Express' at Malad, Mumbai in 2012.[8] Beginning in August 2013, Sachdev starred as Shlok Agnihotri in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?...Ek Baar Phir.
