Pierre Charles Bouvier (born 9 May 1979)[2] is a French-Canadian musician and composer who is best known as the lead singer of the pop punk band Simple Plan.

Early life

Born to Réal and Louise Bouvier. He has two older brothers, Jay and Jonathan. Attended Collège Beaubois in Pierrefonds, Quebec with bandmates Chuck Comeau, Jeff Stinco and Sébastien Lefebvre. Before and partly during his early musical career, Bouvier worked as a cook at St-Hubert in Montréal.

Career

At the age of 13, he founded the punk rock band Reset with his best friend Chuck Comeau in which he was the bass guitarist and lead vocalist. He was not happy with Reset and left the band in 1999, a year after Comeau. His current bandmate David Desrosiers took his place as lead vocalist and bass guitarist. He later met Comeau at a Sugar Ray concert and joined him in creating Simple Plan with old schoolmates Jeff Stinco and Sébastien Lefebvre. Desrosiers also left Reset and joined the new band.[citation needed]

Bouvier is a co-owner of Role Model Clothing, along with Comeau and Patrick Langlois.[citation needed]

He hosted the MTV reality show Damage Control.[3][4]

Bouvier grew up in Montreal along with other members of Simple Plan. He has two brothers, Jay and Jonathan, and his parents are Réal Bouvier and Louise Bellavance. He often refers to his father as his "hero".

During the early Simple Plan years, he was dating Wave Gagnon, an American model. The couple split up on good terms due to differences.

In 2013, Bouvier married his long term girlfriend Lachelle Farrar; he has two daughters, one, Lennon Rose, born in 2011, who is named after The Beatles star John Lennon.
