Question regarding the Stages

If I should've sent this to one of the archive pages, please move it there and leave a message here telling me.

As you already know, the castle stage has Daein crests in it, or at least something pretty darn close (Yes I've looked at them up close, and the differences are there). Anyways, the next Fire Emblem game may be a direct sequel to Path of Radiance. Would a reference to the new game help the article any, or just add speculation(which nobody wants)? --DcPimp 22:30, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

The signs are DIFFERENT. Why would Daien get a new crest? Not related doesnt belong. Tired cant talk in anything but simple sentences.Qwerasdfzxcvvcxz 01:17, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
Okay. Just checking. And I already said I know the crests are different. Sheesh.... --DcPimp 01:48, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
If anything, it's probably the lost Akaneia stage that was planned for Melee, from Fire Emblem 1/3. Everyone swears it has to be from one of the new/unreleased games but never take the time to think that it might possibly correspond to the existing characters in SSB like most of the other stages.--Claude 03:30, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

More Characters? GO to http://aussie-nintendo.com/?v=news&p=3485 and check that out! Add them into the article! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Cocopopz2005 (talkcontribs) .

Apparently, they got that information from a forum, so chances right now are slim.(65.115.123.226 15:37, 7 June 2006 (UTC))
Im pretty sure Akenia(sp) is from the first game.Qwerasdfzxcvvcxz 11:35, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

Three new characters confirmed?

According to LiveWii, a French gaming site with an undeniably slick name, the director of Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Wii revealed on Japanese radio, of all places, that there will be three more new characters for the game - Cel-Shaded Link, Ridley and Bowser Jr... Further, it is apparent that the Ice Climbers, Mr Game & Watch and Young Link will disappear from the series [1]

The site didn't have pictures from the game of the characters, only an amalgam of seperate character art.

Edit: sorry - didn't see their previous mention in talk.

This makes the second time this has come up. I recently found a site (can't remember the name) doing a Google search that claimed the exact same thing. Either this is a really good hoax, or there is some truth in it. --DcPimp 12:09, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
Just wait until a more reliable site (1Up, IGN, etc) reports it as true. However, if any of them say "This rumor has been circulating...", then just wait. JQF 14:06, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
Right now, it's not true. Most people say that the site is not accurate. For now, it's more of a rumor than truth.(65.115.123.226 15:34, 7 June 2006 (UTC))
1up justed posted that this is indeed true. Sry to all of you non-believers. It is true. Deal with it!
Yes, its true... I'm bummed out about Young Link, Mr. Watch and the ice climbers, though... Bly1993 20:09, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

I don't think Wii should add anything until we get it from a reliable source, as I've said before, I'd rather be slow on the news than misleading. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 20:14, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Problem- someone already added it. I agree that nothing should be there until it's announced offically on the English Smash Dojo page- but every time I go to edit that section, the new character stuff doesn't appear (just the "don't add any new characters" warning). What's up wih that?--DainichiJess 20:18, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
Tis been removed. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 20:22, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
I'm personally of the persuasion that 1Up bought into a rumor that's been flying around for a week or so, and that this info is false. One thing that REALLY bugs me about the rumor is that they say that they're axing Young Link, and then turning right around and saying that they're including Wind Waker Link, as though these are mystically separate entities or something (well, okay, yes, I'm aware that OoT's Link and WW's Link aren't the same, but you know what I mean). smashbros.com updates every Wednesday evening (Thursday, technically, but it's still Wednesday in my time zone) so let's see what, if anything, gets reported tonight. Though even if this rumor is true, I doubt that tonight's update will be Ridley, Jr., or WW. --HeroicJay 20:28, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, let's wait for Dojo to confirm it. Man, I'm torn on this one. I really want to see Ridley, WW Link, and Koopa Kid, but I'll miss G&W, Young Link, and the Ice Cli-...no wait...KILL THE ICE CLIMBERS!!! Dang I hate them. :P RememberMe? 21:31, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

I've seen the same exact same rumour over a week ago (so before the last update). That alone makes me have a very, very, very hard time believing this. If the update tonight doesn't say anything, then this rumour should be officially fake. 199.126.137.209 21:35, 7 June 2006 (UTC)Xubelox 22:32, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

It sounds pretty fake to me. But I still want them. THIS IS SO DANG CONFUSING!!! O_o RememberMe? 22:40, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
Well, Video Game News Sites aren't always so sure of the information they put up. It might have been a slow news day for all we know. Only time will tell. InvaderMB 7 June 2006 (UTC)
Personally, I 'm getting really tired of the whole thing. The more people try to confrim it, the happier I get (it gets my hopes up for Ridley), but then someone comes and says its fake and shatters my dreams. I say if someone, anyone, claims it and doesn't have a link to the Dojo or Nintendo or something, we just delete it. I mean this rumor. We still might want to look into new rumors as they appear. --DcPimp 01:18, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
I wouldnt doubt Ridley or Ridley Jr. being in it since he was supposed to be in Melee.(Ive read it and he was in the Melee trailer. But this isnt a forum.Nimrod1234 22:19, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

Well the site wasn't updated. Therefore, I think this info should be considered false. Xubelox 05:36, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

I'm prety sure it was made up, then the guy admitted to it later. -- Kamek24 22:56, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
I don't think they would kick out the Ice Climbers and Mr. Game & Watch for Cel-Shaded Link or Ridley. They would also have to shrink Ridley down a lot. --Rat235478683

*sirens* Back away from the non-existant forum! Highway Rainbow Sneakers 20:50, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

I may be new to talk pages, but the edits that said "Chaos from Glitch City" were from me (I truly am Chaos from the Glitch City website, currently down, don't insult me, since on that site, I'm a mod.) To speak in the topic: I don't get why they would get rid of the Ice Climbers and Mr G & W, and not get rid of Pichu or Dr. Mario, or replace Y. Link with Wind Waker Link; it's just not right! Ridley, I could see, because they can shrink him like Bowser, and weaken him like Mewtwo. Bowser Jr., I don't know why they need a 3rd Bowser (Counting Giga), but probably he could transform into Shadow Mario, but then he would be a semiclone of two people, especially a 2nd one of Mario (the other being Luigi). (Missingno. 22:09, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

Oh I'm sorry! You're a mod? :O Well then please go on gibbering against policy instead of spilling it over your forum. ; D Highway Rainbow Sneakers 22:12, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
And it can only be termed laughable that you claimed to "speak in the topic", and then drone on about the game? :P Highway Rainbow Sneakers 22:17, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
Since ur new to " talk pages " Ill tell u that its not about talking its about Disscusion over the article and how to improve it or what needs to be done. Bit on a side side note: Giga Bowser wasnt an extra Bowser since he wasnt playable. And they " Might " be replacing Young lInk with WW Link not Link. Which I have acctuially thought might happen before Brawl was even annouced. Nimrod1234 00:21, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
That's helping, isn't it. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 07:19, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
Well, even though Giga wasn't playable, he still counts as a clone. And Highway, I felt insulted about what you said. (Missingno. 23:53, 12 June 2006 (UTC))
I have no idea what you're going on about. If you're discussing how sane the character changes would be, then the article talk page is not the place to do it. If you were talking about the verifiability of those claims, as they pertain to the actual article that this talk page is about, then all would be good and nonconfusing. -- Consumed Crustacean | Talk |
You're insulted? Oh dear, I'm so sorry! ¬_¬ Everything about Wikipedia is to do with the writing, not how powerful a mod you are on at a forum. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 07:23, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
OK, I think this subject should be left alone cause there is no point furthering it unless something more about it comes up.Nimrod1234 14:42, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

Agreed. And if you others would look at the first message I wrote, you would see that I wasn't "droning on about the game" (Ahem, *coughcoughhighwaycoughcough*, but talking about how the 3 characters on this topic would be. (Missingno. 01:20, 15 June 2006 (UTC))

Which isn't on topic. ¬_¬ Highway Rainbow Sneakers 06:50, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
Highway, is the topic about the 3 characters, or is it about pigs? Precisely my point. You don't even know what's on topic, or not. Now, I stop talking in this topic, sence no matter what I say, your jealous ego will just say that I'm not on topic. >:( (Missingno. 18:25, 18 June 2006 (UTC))

"You relize that this ROUMOR also claimed that it was announced over the RADIO. Honestly why would they announce it over the radio & not on dojo.--DarkHero 17:12, 19 June 2006 (UTC)"

Should I add it onto the Super Smash Bros Brawl page if it has been claimed on the radio?--User:Rat235478683
No, I meant that NOBODY announces ANYTHING over the radio anymore. So, why would Nintendo? EXACTLY, they wouldn't. LISTEN to me IT IS FAKE!--DarkHero 21:52, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
It is fake because I know of the faker, not because "no one uses the radio anymore". - A Link to the Past (talk) 01:49, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

Possible characters

That section suddenly sprang up. Isn't it the type of section that's supposed to be discouraged? If so, should it be deleted? Xubelox 23:43, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Yep, it is. I've given it the chop. --Sparky Lurkdragon 00:40, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, this isn't the kind of topic we were aiming for. But you've got to admit, it will be very difficult to not talk and discuss rumors somewhat. Or was therea section in the article about it that someone added? I've been out most of the day and haven't got to look into this for a few hours. --DcPimp 01:10, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
There was a section in the article, yeah. --Sparky Lurkdragon 01:28, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
Okay. Just checking. By the way, this rumor thing has gotten WAY out of hand. Even people who swear by Nintendo's word are buying into it. If this keeps up, I'm either gonna kick someone's butt or just join the bandwagon. WHY DOES EVERYBODY TORMENT ME WITH RIDLEY? --DcPimp 02:25, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
They're buying into second (or third, fourth, etc.) hand knowledge from someone who said they heard it on the radio. That does not meet WP:V in even the most broad sense of it. -- Consumed Crustacean | Talk | 03:09, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
Whats wrong with that? Why can't we create a list of speculated characters? We can say, "These are just speculations from past games and are endorsed in no way by Nintendo, Game Freak, or any of it's affiliates." I mean, the same characters come up in the same game! About 50-60% of the characters in SSBM were from SSB N64! Skilanky64 21:22, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
Because Wikipedia isn't a place for speculation. Although just about everybody from Super Smash Bros. appeared in Super Smash Bros. Melee, that doesn't necessarily mean that characters from Melee will appear in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.--The Ninth Bright Shiner talk 21:28, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
Such a thing would be against policy, and original research, also against policy. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 22:03, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
I said that it would violate WP:V, arguably the most important policy on the Wikipedia, and you don't know what's wrong with it? :P -- Consumed Crustacean | Talk | 00:29, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
I heard from a friend of mine that Sonic The Hedgehog has been confirmed to be in SSBB, I do not know if it's true though, if somebody could find out if it's true or not, just throw it in the article.--65.145.62.91 02:23, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

Problem with a Bot

I just went and deleted the section regarding the "Confirmed Three"(yeah right), because some Bot editor reverted the page. I didn't think Bots would give in to unconfirmed messages. Does anyone else find this strange? --DcPimp 02:29, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

What bot? Put a comment on its talk page to inform the creators of its malfunction, incase it's not intentionally being malicious. -- Consumed Crustacean | Talk | 03:08, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
That's not what happened, assuming you're referring to what it looks like. The bot simply removed someone adding some random nonsense to the page, probably at about the same time you tried to remove the rumor. --HeroicJay 03:30, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
Oh, okay. Sorry, its just the whole Bot concept floors me. I can barely believe that they are not actual users sometimes. --DcPimp 12:28, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

Zelda?

Right... more speculation removed, it had more 1up articles as sources. Should we have a list of reliable sources that we can trust to only publish the truth? When exactly does SSBD update? Highway Rainbow Sneakers 18:02, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

Normally on Thursdays (Wednesday evenings in America). You'll note the lack of update today? Yeah... the Japanese site didn't get much of anything better this week. So I guess it'll update whenever it updates. And I think the "Zelda" thing was a misunderstanding of "Wind Waker Link". --HeroicJay 18:18, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
And "Tera"? ; ) Should we only source things from the Dojo site, IGN and Gamespot? Highway Rainbow Sneakers 18:28, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

WiiConnect24 adding characters - After Release?

Ok, well, with the new WiiConnect24, wouldn't it be possible to add characters after the realease of Brawl? I am not adding anything about it to the article yet, but I thpught it would be interesting to add something about it here... ~Seros

I heard a rumor about that. But that's exactly what it is, a rumor. The Wii and Super Smash Bros. Brawl are so shrouded in mystery that there are barely any fine details to put in. Just leave it as a rumor for now, and we'll see by Thanksgiving.--The Ninth Bright Shiner talk 21:27, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
Aye aye. Wasn't planing on adding it til Sakurai confirmed it would be used... ~Seros
Who knows? Man, that would be cool, though. A NEW CHARACTER EVERY 3 DAYS!
Yeah, that would be cool, a mystery character that changes every so often. A rotation if you will. Man would that be cool. Nintendo is going into the future! 69.122.42.147 21:36, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

Hmm. I'd still prefer to be cautious and wait until it's on the Dojo, personally.
Also, please remember to sign your comments. :) --Sparky Lurkdragon 00:03, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
This is a rumor that, unfortunately, a lot of sites are taking seriously. I guess they'd rather be wrong than be the last to note it. I have seen no evidence at all that this is real, and given the awkwardness of it (they're dropping Young Link and... adding... Young... Link?) I suspect it's false. --HeroicJay 00:15, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
If this was legit, it would be on the official site, which has passed the point in which it usually updates (thursday), and this rumour has actually been around for over 2 weeks. It's completely fake.

Xubelox 05:39, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

I concur. I also found that list of huge characters someone posted that's in the archive, the director had taken some suggestions out of the japanese entries which made him laugh. Not much progress then.. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 07:28, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
Why are people still offering this rumor up like no one's heard it yet? The only confirmation will come from Nintendo.--Claude 08:43, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
It's fake, it was started on some forum. And damn glad I am too - removing the Ice Climbers and Game and Watch? Adding Bowser Junior? Blegh. LupusCanis 09:54, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
Do you have a source for that? If it was started on some forum, perhaps we should make note of this in the article - I've certainly heard enough about it that it's starting to feel like Melee's Sonic and Tails rumor. --Sparky Lurkdragon 21:30, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
Only even more stupid, they haven't even devised a way to unlock them. ; ) I think we should just delete any more "OMG! LINK AND RIDLEY!!!" topics without reliable sources. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 21:35, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
I read on some forum a while back that said something to the effect of somebody is now claiming their best friend dared them to start that rumor. I don't know the whole dare part is true, but the fact someone is taking credit for starting it pretty much confirms that this is a bunch of bull(like we had any doubts as of today...). --DcPimp 01:10, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
I heard that some gamesite thought it was real because it came from a Nintendo forum (don't know if it was Nintendo forun, N-Insider, or a Smashbros forum), that's where the rumor started according to some people. (65.115.123.226 16:50, 12 June 2006 (UTC))
Umm, a forum is a forum. It doesn't matter what forum the rumour orginiated on. -- Consumed Crustacean | Talk | 17:12, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

We should start our own rumour, Shigeru Miyamoto and Reggie Fils-Aime unlockable characters! ; ) Seriously, we need to quit these discussions. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 17:02, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, they're getting a bit tiresome. (Though honestly, playing as Miyamoto would be awesome.) -- Consumed Crustacean | Talk | 17:12, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

This is getting severely ridiculous. I was browsing the website YouTube looking for the Brawl trailer, and saw that people were creating their own trailers saying that Bowser Jr., cel-shaded Link and Ridley are in fact in the game. What's worse, these people are claiming that this info came from Sakurai himself!! I mean, come on! If this info came from him, you would think that it would be on HIS website. Then I nearly had a fit when I saw this next trailer... A new batch of confirmed characters. The trailer started of as the original one. Then, after the part where Snake says "It's show time!" there it was: "Newcomer: Sonic"!! Then, "Newcomer: Dr. Eggman"!!! The next one did it: "Newcomer: MASTER CHIEF"!!!! WTF?!?! I wanted to knock my monitor over and step on it. This is the kind of BS that people are believing in. It is positively HATEFUL to start such rumors, and in the name of the Moon, they will be punished!! I just needed to vent and give everyone a heads up so they are prepared over these new characters. SaturnYoshi|TALK 03:18, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

FOX(HOUND)

I've seen editors shooting this around for a while. Take the following sentence, from Section 1: Comfirmed Characters, under Solid Snake:

His symbol is that of Hideo Kojima's new development team, Kojima Productions, which was taken from the fictional organization FOX in the Metal Gear Solid series.

Some people put down "FOX," but others believe it's "FOXHOUND." Could someone with clear knowledge of Metal Gear Solid please put this to rest?--The Ninth Bright Shiner talk 20:21, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

At first I thought it was FOXHOUND but now im think its FOX Nimrod1234 20:55, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

It is indeed FOXHOUND. -- Steel 22:21, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

FOXHOUND. (SPOILERS AHEAD!) FOX is what Big Boss was in. Solid Snake was cloned from Big Boss. -- User:Takuthehedgehog 16:17, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

It's true that Solid Snake was a member of FOXHOUND. However, I am 100% positive that that isn't the FOXHOUND logo. Both of the FOXHOUND logos can be viewed on the FOXHOUND entry; as you can see, Snake's Smash Bros. logo is not present. While it doesn't make logical sense that Solid Snake would have the FOX logo, as he was never in that unit, it is indeed the FOX logo (as well as the Kojima Productions logo). My guess on why they chose this logo: it's closer to the other SSB character logos, since it's only a silhouette. -- ShadowRegulus 00:50, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
Snakes logo is the FOX symbol. FOXHOUND's symbol is a fox with a knife in it's mouth looking forward.Qwerasdfzxcvvcxz 13:03, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
Mind you that the FOX logo most probably dated from after MGS2. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if this is the case, then FOXHOUND might as well has this very same logo, although it never is shown (because it dated from before the prequel).--GaryCXJk 23:46, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

Dairantou Smash Bros. X?

I have seen many sites use the suffix "X" instead of/in addition to "Brawl". Is this the new official name, or is it just the Japanese name (similar to how Melee was "Deluxe" and "Nintendo All-Star!" for the original)? The S 02:56, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

It's clearly the Japanese title. Why would they change the English title into something Japanese?--Claude 03:27, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
That's the Japanese title for sure. It was mentioned in some interview or such; it's probably mentioned on the long thing on the Dojo. Brawl is used as the English title seemingly as a continuation from "Melee". -- Consumed Crustacean | Talk | 03:40, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
About using Japanese in an English title, ask Atari, who has used Japanese in several Dragon Ball Z titles, where there was no Japanese in the Japanese title (other than English words transliterated to Japanese, such as "Doragon Boru") The S 04:20, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
Except this isn't Atari or Dragonball Z.--Claude 06:15, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

Any particular reason this was locked? Highway Rainbow Sneakers 10:34, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

The reason given by AmiDaniel was "Vandalism from multiple anons", see the page history. -- Steel 10:36, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
(edit conflict) It's currently s-protected to deal with vandalism, of which this article has been getting quite a bit. We tried unprotection for about a week, but the vandalism became unmanagable again. AmiDaniel (talk) 10:36, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
It's never been protected... Highway Rainbow Sneakers 10:55, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
It was semi protected on the 21st May by the looks of it. -- Steel 15:16, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
Well, not to sound like User:Jimbo Wales on George W. Bush, but maybe this page should be full-protected all the time, being dropped of protection whenever there's a good update from that one Smash bros. site, and then re-protected afterwards, and we keep doing this until the release of the game in Japan. Yes, this is slightly sarcastic, but what can I say? I'm Erik the Appreciator 18:08, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
The vandalism wasn't as even as bad as Pokémon, and it's not even protected anymore! I think the newbs need to earn their vandal whacking sticks one way or the other. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 18:14, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
I get a kick out of the Pokemon vandalism.Qwerasdfzxcvvcxz 16:04, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
Aye. I just think that it should continue to be semi-protected from IP addresses and what not (as apparent from the tag at the top of the article) from here on out until the physical game is actually out in Japan. People can speculate forever if the game takes forever to make, so semi-protection seems ideal because, realistically speaking, any of the updates from the director at his site are the only real information we'll be getting, and that can be handled by most of the rest of us users. Erik the Appreciator 18:23, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
But how can we protect any page that may be susceptible to vandalism and then question potential syops about a lack of vandal fighting? "Their isn't any". I think Jimbo has over stepped the line here, reversion is better than prevention is some circumstances. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 18:28, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
And us "users" can have serious problems, I wrote a paragraph on Kirby about a week ago, and it dropped from near on "fantastic prose" to that of a 11 year old fan guide. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 18:31, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
Eh, okay, it's your loss. But good luck with keeping up the sanity while keeping out the speculative fancruft.Erik the Appreciator 18:35, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
Bear in mind semi protection shouldn't be used as a pre-emptive measure against vandalism, nor should it be used to prevent edits from IPs either, per policy. -- Steel 18:39, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
Oh, okay. In that case, I'll consider helping out with the vandalism removal patrol at this particular article over the next months. Erik the Appreciator 18:41, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

In my opinion this page should be semi-protected until at least until the Wii comes out (and we have more solid details). No sooner is it unprotected than the vandalism starts again. Dread Lord CyberSkull ✎☠ 22:46, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

In the hour and a half it's been unprotected, we've had 0 acts of vandalism. And please remember that protection is a last resort for highly vandalised pages, it shouldn't be used for long periods of time for the sole reason to prevent edits from IPs. -- Steel 22:51, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
The page is highly vandalized, and it happens over a long period of time, not a short one. With every new rumor comes a flood of people ready to edit these rumors into the page, which usually leads to an edit war when they can't accept the fact that unverified rumors have no place here. This page has and will continue to be vandalized, and it's only going to get worse as the hype surrounding the game increases.--Claude 00:14, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
Let's all remember that this isn't the only page that gets vandalised. Many pages here have it much worse. -- Steel 15:38, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
Which doesn't change the fact that this page still gets vandalaized. There's no rule or procedure that says only one page on all of wikipedia can be protected at a time.--Claude 19:20, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
Well, yeah. Of course there isn't. I never said there was. -- Steel 22:06, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

Fictional Information

How come the stages and items section have a header that claims there is fictional information in the articles? I read through both of them and could not find any fictional claims. Tbkgm79 22:32, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

It says that contain unverified information, which is true. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 22:35, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
It also says it may contain original research, which it doesn't. If the section itself say that they something it is mentioning has not been confirmed, shouldn't that negate the need for the header? Tbkgm79 22:57, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
It is speculative. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 06:47, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

Before I get into a potential edit war over this, should we have the Japanese names of the characters at the start of the character sections? I think it looks better, the characters are Japanese anyway. Thoughts? Highway Rainbow Sneakers 20:40, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

No More Updates For Dojo

The following is a quote from the bottom of the english Super Smadh Bros Dojo website, I'm sorry to say that I have to temporarily stop updating this website as of June, 2006. - - When Super Smash Bros. Brawl is completed sometime in 2007, I plan to post more information for you. For right now, though, I need to focus on the development of the actual game. - Of course, if anything newsworthy comes up, I may decide to post some special notices... - - Meanwhile, though, I'll just do my best to complete the game. - - Masahiro Sakurai .

Yeah it's a bummer.

(Please Don't Delete This.)

This won't be deleted, I'm sure... not if we look at Sakurai's message and realize the important stuff relative to the article: That a continuing stream of information about the game to the public, if that stream has not been wholly terminated, will likely be very sporadic, meaning that the article won't be getting any good new stuff en masse for a long while now. It looks like all the spotty information we have currently will be all the information we will have until around the game's Japanese launch, when the article can actually be fully written and the speculation ends. Not to sound dismal, but this amounts to having simply no need to come to the article in hopes of adding solid information, leaving only the speculation that's been plaguing the talk-page open and perhaps some issues of page layout. All we can do is continue to prevent the speculation and hope surprise updates do come from the Dojo site. *now ducking for cover* Erik the Appreciator 02:18, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

Absolutely not. Wikipedia is not a place for silly rumors.--DarkHero 15:03, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
I'm afraid these guys're right; there's tons of message boards elsewhere on the internet, GameFAQS in particular (now there's a hot spot for discussion!), and Wikipedia is all about the tangible information about games in development, regardless of whether there's a lot of it available or not. I think I know how to tone down the number of attempts to add unconfirmed information: On both the main page and this talk page (the giant sign in particular) we post easily noticeable links to the big forums on sites like GameFAQS and the Smash sites with their forums. Thoughts? Erik the Appreciator 18:22, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
As if everybody else hadn't said it enough, Dojo is the only official, completely verifiable source. And Erik the Appreciator, why exactly would we link to forums? I think the big notice that HighwayCello put at the top should be good enough. I wouldn't suggest putting such a notice on the article page, but maybe in hidden text that a misguided editor could see. Maybe I'm just misunderstanding your suggestion.--The Ninth Bright Shiner talk 19:32, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
Well, actually, maybe the problem I've been talking about isn't as strong as I thought it was. What I said was more of a "last-resort" suggestion stating that if you ever got sick and tired of people's attempts to post speculation on both the article and this talk page (and I've seen cases where editors post loudly that certain edits must NOT be made, but it only compels troublemakers to make just those edits), you could post links to forums as a bit of a back-up measure to prevent this page from becoming a forum. But I'd leave decisions like that up to everyone else; I'm just a suggester. And call me Erik. ^_^ Erik the Appreciator 19:57, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
We shouldn't unload these newbs onto other sites, (like it would work ¬_¬) we should give them a re-assuring pep talk about off-topicness, delete the spam and order a block for recurring editors. Deal with the problem, don't ship it out. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 20:32, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
Fair enough. Erik the Appreciator 01:19, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

Toukoken is not a poll. It's a list of suggestions Sakurai found interesting. They range from reasonable suggestions like Krystal and Lip to completely ridiculous suggestions like Lupus (the dog from Jet Force Gemini) and James Bond. It's been translated by many fans, but we have no idea how seriously Sakurai took the suggestions in it. Xubelox 05:38, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

Cosmetic change: character order

Call it moaning, but it would look nicer if at least Snake is at the bottom of the Confirmed Character section, seeing as he's a 3rd party, and he was announced last.

In fact, I think using the order Mario - Link - Pikachu - Kirby - Meta Knight - Pit - (Samus Aran - ) ZS Samus - Wario - Solid Snake is a better order, seeing as this is the order of appearance in the video.

This however can be problematic if more characters are announced, but at least it looks better if the characters are in the order reoccurring - newcomers - 3rd party. --GaryCXJk 23:56, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

Well, until we get more characters, either order would work fine. Erik the Appreciator 01:16, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
I prefered the old way rather than this alphabetic order...it made more sense for Mario to be on top because he's the first character.Sukecchi 01:33, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
We had it like that, which was in order of appearance, which won't help unless every single character is released in various press releases. And what's wrong with the current listing? It's alphabetical! Highway Rainbow Sneakers 07:40, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
In my humble opinion, alphabetical only works on certain occasions. Alphabetical for example doesn't work on planets. In this case, alphabetical can work the other way. I prefer for example at least Mario to be first, then Link, then the Pokemon characters (when released), then Kirby. The video trailer also has something coincidentally, it puts Meta Knight after Kirby, who is in the same game. If there were ever to be a "right" order, it should be grouped into either old - new - 3rd party or Nintendo - 3rd party, where Nintendo is grouped by game.--GaryCXJk 02:04, 20 June 2006 (UTC)

Toukoken

Does anyone else think that it might be a good idea to include a separate section for the Toukoken updates (currently being referred to as the Q&A section for some reason)? As in, the things Sakurai himself has said on them? These include the possibility of the original characters not returning and there being less emphasis on characters popular in Japan. Xubelox 05:48, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

Nah, he's just messing with them, nothing concrete is being said. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 07:41, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

Internet Play?

This article states that internet play is to be incorporated into Brawl. From what I recall Sakurai stated that he would push for online play, not that it is going to be in the game. I'm quite happy to be proven wrong, but I don't think it is a guaranteed piece of information. 60.230.238.231 09:35, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

It's been confirmed since E3 2005. You're free to check the sources, you knowXubelox 10:23, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

Pretty sure he specifically said that online play would be included, but just wasn't sure if it would be able to go all the way to 4-players. Back at E3 2005, this game was first announced as an example of Wii games with online play. -- Consumed Crustacean | Talk | 00:14, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, but remember that nothing was in the works at the time, it was announced only because it was the most wanted game to go online. Anyway, the point is, he said it will be very hard to make 4 player online play, because of what I said before. - Zero1328 Talk? 01:00, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
the game shall be online. Sakurai(sp) said it would be hard. Their just agonna have to do work.Qwerasdfzxcvvcxz 15:47, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
But what about E3 2006? Where was the mention of online play for Brawl? I know that there's incredible pressure to do so from fans and such, but I find it extremely unlikely that they will pull it off. I got my info from http://smashbrawl.com/2006/05/11/i-dont-mind-being-wrong/ which is a blog on the largest and most respected smash community online, so I trust the info from there. And if you didn't know, to run the game at 60Hz like it runs in Melee, you would need a maximum P2P latency of 15ms, which is ridiculous. Bringer 01:36, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
There's no direct corellation between framerate/refreshrate and latency. I play online PC games at "60hz" and 150ms latency, and they run fine. There's this little thing called netcode that coders like to brag about. -- Consumed Crustacean | Talk | 01:40, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
Yes, there is no direct correlation between framerate and latency. However, Smash Bros Melee currently takes input once every 60 seconds (whether it is running in 50Hz or 60Hz mode). A game like WoW works in 1 second intervals (or something like that, I don't know the exact values) but for some kind of really cool p2p system between 2 users of Smash Brawl would definitely require that kind of latency to be able to play the game with the exact frame input timing as before. Having anything less would detract from the depth of the game that we've had since Melee was released. But we're getting off topic. I've searched quite a bit to find a reliable source saying Brawl will be playable online, and can't find it anywhere. If you can point me in the right direction, I'll leave you alone =D Bringer 13:16, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

Where exactly does Nintendo say that Halberd "will be a course in the game"? Because Meta Knight's profile, the reference for this statement, says nothing of the sort. Snapper2 19:43, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

Why? Like I said, it's not atypical to include levels in early tech-demos that do not make it to the final game. Infact, that's exactly what I said. Besides that, the previous revision of the article was saying that Nintendo specifically confirmed it on the site, which they did not. -- Consumed Crustacean | Talk | 21:34, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
It would be rediculous if it wasn't there in some shape or another is what I should have said. It most likely won't appear as it did in the trailer. Sorry about that. Comrade Pajitnov 18:21, 19 June 2006 (GMT)
However, the level is pretty much goine to be there regardless. It was in the trailer and that's notable, and it's also seen on the website with screenshots.--Claude 06:35, 20 June 2006 (UTC)

However, that doesn't have anything to do with the probability that Captain Olimar will appear on Super Smash Bros. Brawl. He could get thousands of votes, but that wouldn't necessarily affect his chance to appear in the game.--The Ninth Bright Shiner talk 04:17, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
I know, I'm just saying to leave it as a side note. (If Nintendo Power didn't say anything about a character, delete the rumor. Which means if it says on Sonic's profile, leave it.) (Missingno. 17:28, 1 July 2006 (UTC))

Why? It's not relavent to the article because it is opinion (a.k.a. speculative).--DarkHero 17:14, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

I wish the people on the Captain Olimar page would listen to this and stop adding speculative garbage. Xubelox 21:54, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
I've been trying to get them to take that section out, but the "poll" in insert-whatever-magazine-that-was has got them convinced to keep it.--The Ninth Bright Shiner talk 18:59, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

Sections "Speculation" and "Extra"

A speculation section? What a no-no. An "Extra" section with more speculation? I'm really in the mind to tear these sections out.--The Ninth Bright Shiner talk 04:46, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Do note it in the talk page of whoever added it. This would let them know why it was removed, and makes it easier to deal with them if they decide to continually readd the sections. ;) -- Consumed Crustacean | Talk | 06:18, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
Woops. I was a bit tired at the time and suffering from insomnia. :| ShadowNinja added "Speculation," and 24.23.196.195 added the "Extra."--The Ninth Bright Shiner talk 16:44, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Samus/Zero Suit Samus

I hope people read this. I was looking at the official screen shots of the game found on TheMushroomKingdom.net web page and saw something interesting. There is a still from the trailer that shows Samus performing that huge blast of hers (the one right before Zero Suit Samus is introduced) and it looks like the blast blows off her armor. So it looks likes that "unusual circumstance" mentioned in her bio on the Dojo has been more or less explained. I'm not going to blindly add it to the article, but some feedback on what everyone else thinks would be nice. SaturnYoshi|TALK 22:49, 27 June 2006

That breaches WP:Verifability, you've created your own theory on an idea, and it will be removed. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 22:02, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
It is unknown how this would fit into actual gameplay.--The Ninth Bright Shiner talk 22:10, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

I stated that I will not add anything to the article regarding this. I just wanted to know what people would think about this overlooked feature in the official Brawl trailer. That is all. Also, I wouldn't call it my theory as the shot clearly shows pieces of her armor flying off behind her. Thanks for the responses. In a side note: the character list at the bottom of the page has both Samus and Zero Suit Samus listed, however both links go to the Samus main article. Should these links be combined? SaturnYoshi|TALK 00:47, 28 June 2006

You're saying that when Samus does her "Super Smash" attack, she turns into Zero-Suit Samus? That's the best theory I've heard so far concerning this. 70.26.92.26 13:29, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
They are two different characters, so yes. And begone forummer! Highway Rainbow Sneakers 15:10, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
Whatever!!! You don't have to be so mean about it. It's not like I added anything to the main article. And just so you know, I have never participated in any kind of forum, so don't judge me! All I wanted to do is be of some kind of help, but I guess Highway knows everything and doesn't need any help. SaturnYoshi|TALK 18:48, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

All right. I apologize to you Highway. I know that you are just trying to keep the article as close to the truth as possible and that it can be very annoying when people just add things that they really do not know about. Now, I don't really expect anything to come from this, but I've included a link to that screenshot I found. You can see it here [3]. Make of it what you will. Later. SaturnYoshi|TALK 04:51, 29 June 2006

It's okay, we can all get amped. ;) There are many different theories about this, some say that the charged beam is her SuperSmash, others think that transforming into ZSS is her SuperSmash. It could also be a mixture of the two, we won't know until the game is released unfortunately. Regards, Highway Rainbow Sneakers 11:10, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
I do believe, at one time, the article mentioned this little phenomenon. We could mention in a hypothetical way....but then y'all would get all "Anti-Forum" again. Lighten up. --DcPimp 14:25, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

Bomberman

Is this sentence really necessary?

"which also had Bomberman, the first third-party character to appear in a Nintendo game (Wario Blast: Featuring Bomberman!)."--Xubelox 19:59, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

No. Doesn't really have anything to do with the article at hand.--The Ninth Bright Shiner talk 22:40, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

Mario's Super Smash Attack

Is it really necessary to have "his attack resembles this" in there? Plus, people keep arguing over whether it's "Mega Flare" or "Ultra Flame" which really doesn't matter. I'm taking out those parts for now. Comrade Pajitnov 15:37, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

I'm with you on this one, Pajitnov. Considering the attack from Mario RPG they are refering to was more of barage of large fireballs. This one is more of a steady stream of flame. So they're really not similar after all. SaturnYoshi|TALK 16:49, 29 June 2006
I agree with SaturnYoshi, but for the record, I remember it being "Ultra Flame". The only "Mega Flare" I'm familiar with is Bahamut's from the Final Fantasy series. --HeroicJay 18:00, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
On a similar note, I don't think we need the Kirby voice actor thing either, it's kinda pointless. I'll take it out for now. Comrade Pajitnov 18:42, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
I noticed that edit that added the "his attack resembles this" comment. Strange I didn't do anything about it...the thing for Kirby's voice actor would probably be better on his own page.--The Ninth Bright Shiner talk 19:29, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
I agree, but HighwayCello insists that it isn't pointless. I'm going to remove it again. Comrade Pajitnov 15:24, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
No, Shiner said it would be better on the Kirby page, he didn't say it pointless. Could you please stop slating me, I'm not blind, Highway Rainbow Sneakers 18:36, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
...Slating? I'm sorry if I seem like I'm attacking you, or something. Comrade Pajitnov 18:38, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
What would you call, "but HighwayCello insists that it isn't pointless"? Highway Rainbow Sneakers 18:40, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
I didn't know what "slating" meant. See below please.Comrade Pajitnov 18:45, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

Voice Actor Nonsense

If we're going to add Kirby's voice actor, then why not all the other characters *cough*HighwayCello*cough*? It's pointless, and doesn't add to the article in anyway. Comrade Pajitnov 16:36, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

*coughs*You can bog off*coughs* If you want to add them all, you do it. The information is sourced, there's no definitive reason to remove it. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 16:39, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
The reason is it doesn't need to be there. It's not helping the article in any form. I guess this is all really pointless. Let's just keep it out for now. Comrade Pajitnov 18:20, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
Well that was about as eloquently put as a half brick to the small of my back. Could you please stop talking to me like I'm a five-year old? Highway Rainbow Sneakers 18:37, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
Would it be better if all the characters had the voice actor information? Highway Rainbow Sneakers 18:41, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
I guess it would...anyway, I say we forgive and forget about all this...if you want to add it in, fine, go ahead, I won't stop you. It was dumb of me to get upset over the internet. Truce? Comrade Pajitnov 18:45, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
Truce. Sorry, a ton of things mounted in five minutes and I freaked. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 18:48, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

Fair warning

From the GameFAQs board, someone discovered an alleged recording of the "Gaming Exchange" radio show that Sakurai reportedly spoke on. While indistinct Japanese voices talk in the background, an English speaker speaks over them. Most of what is said is taken word-for-word from the smashbros.com website, and then the three rumored characters and drops get mentioned toward the end. I am not convinced, but be prepared for someone believing it and trying to add it. --HeroicJay 21:44, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

I think until it's been confirmed on the official website, we should treat it as a rumor. Comrade Pajitnov 21:50, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
I know and I agree and I never said otherwise. According to another person at GameFAQs, most of what the background voices say isn't actually Japanese (which, not knowing the language, I cannot confirm), so if true, that's a point against. --HeroicJay 21:51, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
I knew that sounded condescending (sorry about that). Could you provide a link to this? Comrade Pajitnov 21:53, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
Here's the link to the recording:

and to the GameFAQs thread concerning it (I'm jayman7):

The audio didn't load for me, but I don't think this can be trusted. Comrade Pajitnov 22:04, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
Me neither. --HeroicJay 22:15, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
I'd place money on it being either a poorly done hoax or a joke. It sounded like a bad impersonation of Japanese in the background (lots of "ahs", and matches up nearly perfectly with the English's timing). Sounded somewhat like the English speaker's voice as well. -- Consumed Crustacean | Talk | 22:35, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
When the English guy says "Super Smash Bros." at the beginning of the "interview", I did not hear the "Japanese" guy in the background say "Dairantou Smash Brothers". The way it was said it in the trailer when what's-his-name was talking to Snake. I didn't hear him say "Smash Bros." at all. SaturnYoshi|TALK 00:12, 01 July 2006 (UTC)
The "Japanese" language is too garbled to make anything out and the English voice is rather hollow sounding, as if put through a normal Sound Recorder. I do not trust the audio one bit. Jake52 My talk 02:34, 1 July 2006 (EST)
I can speak Japanese, so there's no doubt in my mind it's real Japanese, but the accents are pathetically poor. Not to mention the "translator" sounds incredibly smug. It's pure bull. Edit: I also noticed the alleged host and translator called Masahiro "Masaharo' (notice the a). --Xubelox 10:58, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

Another rumor

I was doing a Google search of different forums a couple days ago (didn't remember the names, so forgive me for that), and about 4 or 5 had something to this effect:

It seems that Mashiro has decided to include Golden Sun protaganists Isaac and Felix, as well as the Metroid villain Ridley, and slew of new Pokemon including Blaziken and Raichu.

Some other names that came up were Vaati and Krystal. Now, I'm not buying it. And as cool as it would be if this was true, it had no sources other than one of the forums I looked at. This is just a warning. Be ready. --DcPimp 20:45, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

While that would kick ass (Golden Sun, yay!), a forum is where people type, not gods. Unfortunatley for you, no characters have been confirmed except for the ones in the trailer. Krystal and Issac? We'll just have to wait and see. Supermariorobot 01:25, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
I did say this was a warning, didn't I? I don't believe any of it. --DcPimp 01:56, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

Twenty-fix

Okay, let's clear this up. Are there 25 or 26 characters in Super Smash Bros. Melee? Zelda and Sheik are the same character, but Sakurai does refer to 26 characters in the original. Debate away. --HeroicJay 01:20, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

There's 26, Zelda and Sheik aren't the same character, but two characters in one. They have two completely differnet move sets, meaning two different characters. Comrade Pajitnov 14:55, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
I'd have to say 25. You can't start a game as Sheik, and there are 25 character slots. In this manner, Sheik's entire move set could be seen as a special attack of Zelda's. Or not...really, if there are 25 or 26 characters would be something for Nintendo to announce. But it's pretty unlikely that they would answer.--The Ninth Bright Shiner talk 19:04, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
Or alternatively the whole sentence could be rephrased so a specific number isn't given. "Sakurai has stated that some of the characters in SSBM might not return" or something. -- Steel 19:09, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
I like Steel's idea, and not just because he's one of my favorite comic book characters. Comrade Pajitnov 19:57, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
The actual game says twenty-five. "Unlocked characters - 25". And I have them all. Highway Batman! 21:06, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
Isn't that because of the way games work though? Since Zelda and Sheik are two characters in one, they count as one character to the game, even though they can be considered 2 seperate characters. In that aspect, Melee has 25 characters. If anything, Steel's idea to get rid of the number so people don't argue about it is the best route to take. After all, we don't want to end up with a pointless edit war. Comrade Pajitnov 21:55, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
As far as I see it, the key part of that sentence is that not all characters may return. If anything, the number of characters in the previous game is irrelevant. -- Steel 21:59, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
I agree. I took out the number for now. Comrade Pajitnov 22:00, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

In regards to the statement made above by The Ninth Bright Shiner, you can actually start off the game as Sheik. After you select Zelda, hold down the A button before the match starts and she will transform into Sheik when the announcer says "Ready". SaturnYoshi|TALK 07:46, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

I know this issues already resolved, but just for the hell of it: Sakurai says in How this game came to be made and on Toukoken that there are 26.

Anon alert!

An image of Sonic in SSBB has leaked out on the internet. Nintendo has not confirmed it yet, so be on the lookout for anon edits. Bly1993 22:12, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

That photoshop is terrible. Well, brace yourselves everyone. Comrade Pajitnov 22:16, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
There's already a number of people who are convinced that Sonic will appear in the game, so I don't think this image will do anything that drastic.--The Ninth Bright Shiner talk 03:38, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

Yo! I made a comment on this above in the 3 new characters announced and 3 not returning heading. Besides Sonic, people are convinced that Dr. Eggman will also be in the game and (brace yourselves) even Master Chief is a "confirmed" newcomer. I mean, what the Hell, people? Possible Release Date?

I was browsing some cheat codes when I came upon discussion of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and a person who was a guest with the username "ness god" says that SSBB is coming out on 02/01/07 (February 1, 2007). The entry ness god made is dated July 6, which is today. http://www.cheatcodesgalore.com/gamecube/games/Super_Smash_Bros_Melee/
Take a look at post #954 on the page where ness god makes the post, and discuss whether it's true or not, if it is, somebody can put it in the article. --65.138.13.28 22:30, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

Hardly a reliable source. -- Steel 22:35, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
That puts it lightly. Some random, unknown, unregistered person on a rather obscure forum? Hohoho. -- Consumed Crustacean | Talk | 00:13, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
We appreciate your help, but think about how official your source is. There are thousands of forums that say they have release dates, but they're forums, which is where ordinary people discuss it. It's not like this "ness god" fellow is a Nintendo official.--The Ninth Bright Shiner talk 03:36, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

I've noticed that a few video game selling sites put that as the release date (obviously an estimated one) so I'm guessing that he heard it from one of those. Xubelox 10:58, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
