Buffalo Dreams is a 2005 Disney Channel Original Movie directed by David S. Jackson.

Plot

Set against the backdrop of New Mexico, the film follows a boy who moves because of his father's job and becomes involved with a group of teens attempting to preserve the buffalo and Navajo traditions. Along the way he makes friends and learns important lessons about life. The movie teaches about a few Navajo traditions. In the end the boy, Josh, while in a biking race learns that the nearby buffalo herd are stampeding and threatening his home town. Josh rallies both his friends and rivals to end the stampede. As a result, he is made an honorary member of the Navajo tribe and gains the name Rides With Wind while befriending his former enemy Thomas Blackhorse, forming a pact with him to keep the reservation safe for as long as they can.

In 2006 the film was nominated for two awards The Directors Guild of America award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Children's Programs for David S. Jackson and Young Artist Awards for Best Performance in a TV Movie, Miniseries or Special - Supporting Young Actress for Tessa Vonn.
