Angry Birds Transformers is the tenth installment in the Angry Birds series, featuring a battle between "Autobirds and Deceptihogs (Angry Birds version of Autobots & Decepticons)". The puzzle video game is being developed and published by Rovio Entertainment with collaboration from Hasbro.[3] The game is planned to be released on October 15, 2014.[4][5] The release will include licensed merchandise and a toy line from Hasbro. This game is a crossover between Angry Birds and Transformers.

Telepods

The game is compatible with Hasbro's Telepods, a toy line also used in other Angry Birds games, such as Angry Birds Star Wars II and Angry Birds Go!.[6] The toys are able to summon characters into the game that correspond to the scanned figure. When using Telepods to summon figures, it is necessary to scan its QR code each time after the app is closed. The game will be the fourth Angry Bird related game to contain Telepods.

Characters

In the game, there are five Autobirds and Deceptihogs. The five birds are Red, Chuck, Terence, Hal, and Stella as Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Heatwave, Grimlock, and Arcee, in respective order.[citation needed] The five pigs in the game are the King Pig, Corporal Pig, Mustache Pig, Chef Pig, and Minion Pig as Megatron, Galvatron, Lockdown, Soundwave, and Starscream, in respective order.[citation needed]

Comic Series

At SDCC 2014, IDW Publishing and Rovio announced an Angry Birds Transformers crossover comic books series; it will be written by John Barber and art by Marcelo Ferriera and published in Q1 2015.[7]
