Oden Lake

Oden Lake is a lake in Scania, in Sweden and belongs to Söderåsens National park. The lake is circular in shape, with a diameter of 150 meters and it is 19 meters deep. Oden Lake may have been formed from a glacier niche, and the name Oden Lake will have been due to the circular shape as compared to the god Odin's one eye.

The nature

The nature offers beautiful nature and leafy deciduous forests and powerful screes with high rocks, flowing watercourses and wide views.

In the forest, you can find different types of wood as for example beech, oak, ash and lime. One thing that fascinates many is the variation on the ground. The area is rich on mushroom, insects, water creatures, mosses, birds and bats.

Because of the rugged landscape, many characteristics of primeval forest have been preserved, such as an abundance of dead trees. This makes the insect life rich, with many rare beetles. The flora is also extremely rich, with species such as holewort, enchanter's nightshade and great meadow-rue.
