If your prefix contains any equals signs ("="), you will need to replace them with the code <code><nowiki>{{=}}</nowiki></code>, otherwise everything in front of the first equals sign will be interpreted as a parameter name.

This template finds the highest archive number for a given set of archive pages. Note that whitespace must be input correctly for the template to work.

If no prefix is specified, the template tries to detect whether the current page is an archive page or not. If the page name ends in "/Archive n", where n is an archive number, then the current page, minus the archive number, is used as the prefix. If the page doesn't end in "/Archive n", then the current page plus "/Archive " is used as the prefix.

Syntax

{{highest archive number|prefix}}

The following does not work, as there is a new line after the prefix:

{{highest archive number
|prefix
}}

If your prefix contains any equals signs ("="), you will need to replace them with the code {{=}}, otherwise everything in front of the first equals sign will be interpreted as a parameter name.

Examples

  • {{highest archive number|Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/IncidentArchive}} → 1175
  • {{highest archive number|Talk:Byzantine Empire/Archive }} → 16
